BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Boston University and Navy garnered two Patriot League Indoor Track and Field weekly awards this week, while Holy Cross and Lehigh logged one apiece.
Boston University graduate student Foster Malleck was named Patriot League Indoor Men’s Track Athlete of the Week after breaking the Terrier record and winning the 3000
meters with a time of 7:50.96. His mark leads the Patriot League and ranks him 12th in NCAA Division I. It is also the 18
th-best mark for a Canadian in the event. Fellow Terrier Vera Sjöberg also logged a record-breaking performance en route to Patriot League Women’s Track Athlete of the Week. She broke the school record and won gold in the one-mile run with a time of 4:33.92. Her time leads the Patriot League and ranks as the ninth-fastest in NCAA DI this season.
Navy senior Justice Hood collected Patriot League Men’s Field Athlete of the Week after a League-leading heptathlon win with 5,049 points. It was the first collegiate victory for the Virginia native, who ranks 31st in NCAA DI in the event. Lehigh sophomore Gaea DePass was named Patriot League Women’s Field Athlete of the Week after a gold medal-winning performance in the high jump. She cleared 1.70m (5’ 7”), a mark that leads the Patriot League and ranks 91st in NCAA DI.
Holy Cross freshman Khalil Antoine earned the Patriot League Men’s Indoor Rookie of the Week after earning gold in the triple jump with a mark of 14.82 (48’ 7.5”). The mark is the second-best on the season for Antoine, who leads the League in the event. Navy’s Zoie Tesi garnered Patriot League Women’s Indoor Rookie of the Week honors after her first collegiate victory in the high jump with a mark of 1.76m (5’ 5.75”). She also logged a runner-up finish in the triple jump with a leap of 11.10m (36’ 5”). Both marks rank inside the top five in the League this season.
Army West Point’s Josh Beckett, Boston University’s Iman Roka and Jaime Chamberlain, Bucknell’s Justley Sharp, Colgate’s Ethan Eisner, Lehigh’s Abby Klebe and Navy’s Murphy Smith garnered honorable mention nods this week.

Zoie Tesi, Navy, Fr., Jumps, Gloversville, N.Y./Gloversville
*Tesi logged a 1.67m (5’ 5.75”) leap in the high jump for her first collegiate victory.
*She also claimed a runner-up finish in the triple jump with a mark of 11.10m (36’ 5”).
*Both marks place her inside the top five in the Patriot League this season and are the best marks by a freshman in either event this year.

*Beckett logged a 14.76m (48’ 5.25”) leap in the triple jump which places him second in the League rankings this season and 95th in NCAA DI.

*Roka won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.69 seconds which ranks second in the League this season.
Jamie Chamberlain, Boston University, Sr., Jumps, Chestnut Hill, Mass./Brookline
*Chamberlain won the long jump with a mark of 5.80m (19’ 0.5”).
*Her jump leads the Patriot League.
Justley Sharp, Bucknell, So., Throws, Homer City, Pa./Homer Center
*Sharp finished as the runner-up in the shot put with a mark of 15.05m (49’ 4.5”).
*The mark would rank second in the League if Sharp did not already hold the top throw of the season.
Ethan Eisner, Colgate, Sr., Sprints, Winston-Salem, N.C./R.J. Reynolds
*Eisner broke the school record in the 400m with a time of 48.39 seconds, winning gold in the event.
*The mark places him second in the Patriot League this season.
Abby Klebe, Lehigh, Jr., Mid-Distance, Chesterbrook, Pa./Conestoga
*Klebe won the 1000m with a time of 4:49.22 and established a new Mountain Hawk record in the event.
*She leads the Patriot League in the event.
Murphy Smith, Navy, Sr., Distance, Charlotte, N.C./Ardrey Kell
*Smith broke the Academy record in the 3000m with a mark of 7:55.05.
*The mark was also a facility record at Wesley A. Brown Field House and the second-consecutive gold medal for Smith in the event.
PATRIOT LEAGUE INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2024-25 Patriot League Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held in Annapolis, Md. at the United States Naval Academy. Events at Wesley A. Brown Field House begin Saturday, Mar. 1 and conclude on Sunday, Mar. 2. All nine men's programs and each of the 10 women's teams will compete.
