Patriot League Women’s Soccer Players of the Week Announced (10.20.25)

Army West Point and Colgate collect weekly awards

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Army West Point received three of the five Patriot League women’s soccer weekly awards presented by PenFed Credit Union, when the League office announced the honors on Monday. Colgate collected the two remaining weekly honors.

Colgate sophomore forward Josie Tunney collected Patriot League Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors after scoring three goals in a 2-0 week for the Raiders.

For the second time this season, Raiders’ senior Ari Bezanson was named Patriot League Women’s Soccer Midfielder of the Week after she registered a goal and an assist in Colgate’s 3-0 win at Loyola Maryland.  

Army West Point junior defender Jordan Follenweider earned Patriot League Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this year after leading the Black Knights’ back line in a pair of shutout victories.

Black Knights’ sophomore Karalyn Dail was honored as the Patriot League Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week after making five saves in a pair of shutout victories.

Army West Point freshman forward Sophia Henry garnered Patriot League Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week honors for the fifth time this season, which ties a single-season record, after scoring a goal and an assist in the Black Knights’ wins over Bucknell and Lafayette.

Honorable mentions went to Army West Point freshman forward Sophia Henry and sophomore midfielder Brigid Duffy; Boston University sophomore goalkeeper Bridget Carr, senior midfielder Giulianna Gianino, senior defender Helene Tyburczy, and freshman midfielder Nina Tzouganatos; and Navy freshman defender Helen Bonner.

The Patriot League women’s soccer players of the week are selected in a vote by League head coaches, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

Patriot League Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Josie Tunney, Colgate, So., Forward, Tiburon, Calif./Darien
*Tunney totaled three goals in a 2-0 week for Colgate, which included scoring twice in a 2-1 victory over Lehigh. Her second goal of the game in the 70th minute proved to be the game-winner.  
*The sophomore added an insurance goal in the 71st minute in the Raiders’ 3-0 win at Loyola Maryland.
*The Tiburon, Calif. native is tied for seventh in the Patriot League in goals (11) and tied for 10th in points (11).

Patriot League Women’s Soccer Midfielder of the Week
Ari Bezanson, Colgate, Sr., Midfielder, Danvers, Mass./Danvers
*Bezanson got the scoring started in the eighth minute and added an assist on Anna Keeling’s goal in the 26th minute to lead Colgate to a 3-0 win at Loyola Maryland.
*The Danvers, Mass., native is tied for seventh in the Patriot League in goals (5) and tied for eighth in points (12).
*The senior collected the fifth weekly award of her career. (Offensive Player of the Week – 10.21.24; Midfielder of the Week – 10.14.24, 9.15.25, 10.20.25; Rookie of the Week – 10.10.22)

Patriot League Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Jordan Follenweider, Army West Point, Sr., Defender, Jacksonville, Fla./Bartram Trails
* Follenweider logged 165 minutes and played a crucial role on Army West Point’s back line in shutout victories over Bucknell (4-0) and Lafayette (2-0).
*The senior collected her third Defensive Player of the Week honor of her career. (10.9.23, 9.15.25, 10.20.25)

Patriot League Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week
Karalyn Dail, Army West Point, So., Goalkeeper, Centennial, Colo./Arapahoe
*Dail finished a 2-0 week for Army West Point with five saves, leading the Black Knights to shutout victories over Bucknell (4-0) and Lafayette (2-0).
*The sophomore ranks tied for third in the Patriot League in shutouts (4), sixth in goals-against average (1.24) and eighth in save percentage (.753).

Patriot League Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week
Sophia Henry, Army West Point, Fr., Forward, Springfield, Va./Lake Braddock
*Henry scored her eighth goal of the season, to lead all rookies, in Army West Point’s 4-0 win over Bucknell and added an assist in the Black Knights’ 2-0 win at Lafayette.
*The freshman ranks third in the Patriot League in goals (8) and fourth in points (18).
*The Springfield, Va., native collected her fifth Rookie of the Week honor, which ties the single-season record held by Army West Point’s Kim An (2010).

*Conti totaled three assists in a 2-0 week for Army West Point, including two in the Black Knights’ 4-0 win over Bucknell on Wednesday and one in a 2-0 victory at Lafayette.

Brigid Duffy, Army West Point, Sr., Midfielder, Queensbury, N.Y./Queensbury
*Duffy recorded her third brace of the season in Army West Point’s 4-0 win over Bucknell on Wednesday.
*The senior is tied for fourth in NCAA Division I with 12 goals, which leads the Patriot League, and she leads the league in points (25).

Bridget Carr, Boston University, So., Goalkeeper, Wyckoff, N.J./Ramapo
*Carr combined for two saves to help the Terriers to two shutouts last week, with a 1-0 win over Holy Cross and a 6-0 triumph over American. The sophomore helped Boston University extend its shutout streak to four games.

Giulianna Gianino, Boston University, Sr., Midfielder, Norwell, Mass./Norwell
*Gianino tallied a goal and an assist during Boston University’s 6-0 victory over American on Saturday. She moved into sole possession of seventh place in BU’s record books with 23 career goals and 67 career points.
*The senior leads the Patriot League in assists (9) while ranking tied for second in points (21) and tied for fourth in goals (6).

Helene Tyburczy, Boston University, Sr., Defender, Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey
*Tyburczy scored her second goal of the season in the seventh minute of Boston University’s 6-0 victory over American on Saturday. The senior anchored the Terriers’ defense in a 1-0 win against Holy Cross on Wednesday.

*Tzouganatos buried her first collegiate goal in the 26th minute of Boston University’s 6-0 victory over American on Saturday.
