BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Army West Point collected two of the three Patriot League women’s volleyball weekly awards, presented by Credit Union One, when the League office announced the honors on Tuesday. American received the remaining weekly honor.
For the second straight week and fourth time in her career, Army West Point senior outside hitter Mackenzie Lynch was tabbed Patriot League Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week after leading the Black Knights to a 2-0 weekend.
Black Knights’ freshman middle blocker Corrine Blackburn earned Patriot League Women’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week honors after totaling 13 blocks, including a career-high 12 against Colgate, to lead Army West Point to two wins.
American freshman outside hitter Sophie Dufour was named the Patriot League Women’s Volleyball Rookie of the Week for the sixth time this season after totaling 30 kills and 15 digs in the Eagles’ two-win weekend.
Honorable mentions went to Army West Point freshman outside hitter Janie Deapen, Lafayette freshman libero Emily Gouldrup, Loyola Maryland freshman libero Addie Huber and Navy sophomore outside hitter Farrah Eike.
The Patriot League women’s volleyball players of the week are selected in a vote by League head coaches, who are not eligible to vote for their own student-athletes.

Patriot League Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week
Mackenzie Lynch, Army West Point, Sr., Outside Hitter, Asheville, N.C./T.C. Roberson
*Lynch totaled 29 kills on a .257 hitting percentage, 25 digs and eight blocks to lead Army West Point to a 2-0 weekend.
*In a five-set comeback over Colgate, the senior recorded a double-double with 19 kills and 14 digs to go with five blocks. She added 10 kills on a season-high .455 hitting percentage in a sweep of Holy Cross.
*The Asheville, N.C. native ranks third in the Patriot League in points per set (4.03) and fourth in kills per set (3.54).
Patriot League Women’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week
Corrine Blackburn, Army West Point, Fr., Middle Blocker, Alexandria, Ky./St. Henry District
*Blackburn led Army West Point’s defense at the net during a 2-0 weekend as she finished with 13 blocks (1.63 per set) and 13 kills.
*The freshman recorded a career-high 12 blocks in the Black Knights’ reverse sweep of Colgate.
Patriot League Women’s Volleyball Rookie of the Week
Sophie Dufour, American, Fr., Outside Hitter, Frankfort, Ky./Franklin County
*Dufour totaled 30 kills, 15 digs and three blocks in American’s two-win weekend. The freshman had 18 kills and nine digs in a five-set win over Lehigh on Friday.
*She returned on Saturday with 12 kills on a .364 hitting percentage in a sweep of Bucknell.
*The Frankfort, Ky. native ranks second in the Patriot League in kills per set (3.88) and points per set (4.41).

*Deapen finished Army West Point’s 2-0 weekend with 18 kills on a .429 hitting percentage, eight digs and six blocks.

*Gouldrup totaled 52 digs, 10 assists and two service aces for Lafayette over the weekend as the freshman continues to lead the Patriot League in digs (358) and digs per set (4.97).

*Huber totaled 44 digs (4.89 per set), 11 assists and three service aces to lead Loyola Maryland to victories over Bucknell and Lafayette.

*Eike averaged 3.89 kills (35 total), 2.22 digs (20) and 0.44 blocks (4) per set while hitting .247 in Navy’s 2-0 weekend.
*In the Mids’ five-set win over Lafayette, the sophomore registered 26 kills, 16 digs and three blocks.
