Patriot League Announces Field Hockey Players of the Week presented by Credit Union 1 (10.6.25)

American claims four weekly honors, Boston University receives one

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – American collected four of the five Patriot League field hockey weekly awards when the League office announced honors, presented by Credit Union 1, on Monday. Boston University received one weekly accolade.  
 
American junior forward Jordan Reicher was voted Patriot League Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week after scoring three goals in the Eagles’ wins against Lafayette (3-1) and Villanova (3-0).    
 
American graduate student Agustina Roffo earned her third Patriot League Field Hockey Midfielder of the Week this season, after scoring one goal and dishing out one assist in the Eagles’ 3-1 win over Lafayette.

Eagles’ freshman Lotti Sume was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week for the first time after recording an assist and helping the AU defense limit Lafayette to one goal in a 3-1 win before helping shut out Villanova on Sunday.  
 
Eagles’ senior Pauline Gineste collected her first Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week recognition after posting an .833 save percentage and .500 goals-against average (GAA) in American’s wins over Lafayette (3-1) and Villanova (3-0).
 
Boston University freshman forward Molly Driscoll earned Patriot League Field Hockey Rookie of the Week after totaling three points on one goal and one assist in the Terriers’ 4-1 win over Lehigh.
 
Boston University sophomore defender Shea Freda and senior Caroline O’Brien, Bucknell junior goalkeeper Sarah Althouse, senior defender Kira Leclercq and senior midfielder Nicky Punt, Lafayette junior defender Lena Thedrian received honorable mentions for their performances last week.
 
The Patriot League field hockey players of the week are selected in a vote by League head coaches, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

Jordan Reicher, American, Jr., Forward, Redwood City, Calif./Saint Francis
*Reicher scored three goals across American’s wins over Lafayette (3-1) and Villanova (3-0).
*The junior forward scored the Eagles’ third goal in a 3-1 win over the Leopards in a rematch of the 2024 Patriot League Championship Game.
*She scored two first-half goals against the Wildcats to help complete AU’s 2-0 week.

*Roffo posted three points on one goal and one assist in American’s 3-1 win over Lafayette on Friday.
*She scored the game-opening goal against the Leopards before assisting their third goal.
*The graduate student midfielder helped the Eagles shut out Villanova in a 3-0 win on Sunday.
 
Patriot League Credit Union 1 Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week
Lotti Sume, American, Fr., Defender, Hamburg, Germany/Gymnasium Oberalster
*Sume played every minute along the backline in American’s victories over Lafayette (3-1) and Villanova (3-0), helping the Eagles allow just one goal during a 2-0 week.
*She led an AU defense that limited the Leopards to just four shots in goal and assisted the Eagles’ first goal of the game.
*The freshman defender was key in the Eagles’ effort to limit the Wildcats to two shots on goal in their fourth shutout of the season on Sunday.
 
Patriot League Credit Union 1 Field Hockey Goalkeeper of the Week
Pauline Gineste, American, Sr., Goalkeeper, Charlottesville, Va./The Covenant School
*Gineste posted an .833 save percentage and .750 goals-against average (GAA) to help the Eagles go 2-0 last week with wins over Lafayette (3-1) and Villanova (3-0).
*She had three saves in the Eagles’ win over the Leopards in a rematch of the 2024 Patriot League Championship Game.
*The senior goalkeeper recorded two saves against the Wildcats for her fourth shutout of the season.  
 
Patriot League Credit Union 1 Field Hockey Rookie of the Week
Molly Driscoll, Boston University, Fr., Forward, Watertown, Mass./Phillips Academy Andover
*Driscoll posted three points on one goal and one assist in Boston University’s 4-1 win over Lehigh on Saturday.
*She scored the game-winning goal in the third quarter of the Terriers’ win against the Mountain Hawks, breaking a 1-1 tie.
*The freshman forward also assisted the game-tying goal in the first quarter.

Shea Freda, Boston University, So., Defender, Lexington, Mass./Phillips Academy Andover
*Freda helped the Terriers’ defense hold Lehigh to just one shot for the final 36 minutes in a 4-1 win on Saturday to improve to 2-1 in League play. She also assisted Caroline O’Brien’s goal for her first collegiate point.

*O’Brien scored two goals in a 4-1 win over Lehigh to record her third multi-goal game in Boston University’s last four contests.

*Althouse recorded four saves to lead Bucknell to a 4-1 victory over Holy Cross on Saturday to improve to 2-1 in League play. She has an .800 save percentage in three League games.
 
Kira Leclercq, Bucknell, Sr., Defender, Berlin, Germany/ Vicco von Bülow Gymnasium Stahnsdorf
*Leclercq scored the opening goal and assisted two more in Bucknell’s 4-1 victory over Holy Cross on Saturday.
 
Nicky Punt, Bucknell, Sr., Midfielder, Rotterdam, The Netherlands/Erasmiaans Gymnasium
*Punt recorded two assists in the Bison’s 4-1 win over Holy Cross to help Bucknell improve to 2-1 in League play. Her 23 career assists place her sixth in Bison history.
 
Lena Thedrian, Lafayette, Jr., Defender, Hamburg, Germany/Rudolf Steiner Schule Hamburg-Wandsbek
*Thedrian scored the Leopards’ lone goal and made a defensive save in a 3-1 loss at American on Friday. She was part of a Leopards’ defense that held AU to six shots, five on goal, and four penalty corners.
