Patriot League Announces M-F Athletic Cross Country Weekly Awards (10.7.25)

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Navy earned two Patriot League M-F Athletic Cross Country Weekly Awards, while Army West Point and American each garnered one when the results were announced by the League office on Tuesday.   
 
Navy senior Justin Mumford earned Patriot League M-F Athletic Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors after logging an 8K time of 23:44.4. He logged the best 8K time at the Paul Short Run by a League runner. Army West Point’s Louisa Diamond was named Patriot League M-F Athletic Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week after logging a 6K time of 20:22.8 at the Paul Short Run. She finished 25th and was the highest-finishing Patriot League student-athlete in the race.
 
Navy freshman Luke Bowlsby was named Patriot League M-F Athletic Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week after posting an 8K time of 24:37.6 at the Paul Short Run. American’s Shealyn Brochu earned Patriot League M-F Athletic Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week honors after logging a 6K time of 21:09.5. She was the top freshman finisher in the race.
 
American’s Kaden Kluth, Lehigh’s Kaitlyn Highduch, and Navy’s Sophie Compton earned honorable mention honors.
   
PATRIOT LEAGUE M-F ATHLETIC MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK 
Justin Mumford, Navy, Sr., New Baden, Ill./Wesclin
*Mumford logged an 8K time of 23:44.4 at the Paul Short Run.
*He posted the best time among Patriot League runners at the event.
  
PATRIOT LEAGUE M-F ATHLETIC WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK 
Louisa Diamond, Army West Point, Jr., Naperville, Ill./Benet Academy  
*Diamond logged a 6K time of 20:22.8 at the Paul Short Run.  
*She placed 25th overall and was the highest-finishing League runner at the event.

PATRIOT LEAGUE M-F ATHLETIC MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY ROOKIE OF THE WEEK 
Luke Bowlsby, Navy, Fr., Amherst, Ohio/Marion L. Steele
*Bowlsby posted an 8K mark of 24:37.6 at the Paul Short run.
  
PATRIOT LEAGUE M-F ATHLETIC WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY ROOKIE OF THE WEEK 
Shealyn Brochu, American, Fr., Bath, Maine/Morse
*Brochu finished sixth in the Paul Short Run Brown Race.
*She clocked a time of 21:09.5 in the 6K.
  
HONORABLE MENTION 
Kaden Kluth, American, Sr., Portsmouth, R.I./Portsmouth
*Kluth finished third in the Paul Short Run Brown race with an 8K mark of 24:25.6.
*He is the first Eagle to podium at a Paul Short race in over a decade.
 
Ryan Baker, Lehigh, Jr., Lewes, Del./Cape Henlopen
*Baker logged an 8K mark of 24:20.0 to secure the fourth-place spot on Lehigh’s Cross Country career  list.
 
Kaitlyn Highduch, Lehigh, So., Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin
*Highduch finished the 6K in 20:53.6 at the Paul Short Run. 
 
Sophie Compton, Navy, Sr., San Diego, Calif./Point Loma
*Compton logged a 6K mark of 20:48.1 at the Paul Short Run.

The 2025 Patriot League Cross Country Championships are slated for Friday, Oct. 31, in Bethlehem, Pa., on the campus of Lehigh University.
