Seeding Determined for the 2025 Patriot League Field Hockey Championship presented by Credit Union 1

American earns the regular-season title and hosting duties; Lafayette, Bucknell and Boston University make the field

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – American captured the Patriot League field hockey regular-season title and the No. 1 seed in the 2025 Patriot League Championship presented by Credit Union 1. The Eagles will host the four-team field at the William I Jacobs Recreational Complex in Washington, D.C., when the semifinal round begins on Thursday, Nov. 6.
Lafayette (11-6, 5-1 PL) is the No. 2 seed after closing out its regular-season League schedule with a 1-0 win over Boston University on Oct. 24. The Leopards will meet No. 3 Bucknell (10-6, 4-2 PL), which closed out the regular season with a 5-2 win over Lehigh.
 
The top-seeded Eagles (12-5, 6-0 PL) will host No. 4 Boston University (6-10, 3-3 PL), who clinched the final spot in the four-team field with a 3-2 overtime win at Colgate in the regular-season finale.

The Eagles and head coach Steve Jennings won their 15th regular-season title since joining the Patriot League in 2001. They will host No. 4 Boston University and head coach Sally Starr at 11 a.m. on Thursday in Washington, D.C. American defeated the Terriers, 2-0, in their regular-season meeting on Sept. 19.
 
Lafayette and head coach Jennifer Stone will be the No. 2 seed for the third straight season and will take on Bucknell and head coach Kelsey Kolojejchick at 2 p.m. in the second semifinal matchup. The Leopards downed the Bison, 2-1 in overtime, during the regular season on Sept. 26.
 
Both matches in the semifinal round on Nov. 6 and the 2025 Patriot League Field Hockey Championship Match on Saturday, Nov. 8, will be available live on ESPN+ with Cory Nidoh calling the plays and Gabby DiPaula providing analysis.
