Patriot League Football Players of the Week presented by Credit Union 1 Announced (11.10.25)

Lafayette’s Edwards, Richmond’s Hoilette, Lafayette’s Simonetta and Colgate’s Fogler earn weekly honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lafayette junior running back Kente Edwards and Richmond senior defensive end Donovan Hoilette earned Patriot League Football Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, when the League office announced weekly awards, presented by Credit Union 1, on Monday. The Leopards claimed one additional honor, and Colgate earned one weekly accolade.
 
Leopards’ junior running back Kente Edwards earned Patriot League Football Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week and the fifth time this season, after rushing for a career-high 260 yards and three touchdowns in the Leopards’ 59-42 win over Colgate.  
 
Spiders’ senior defensive end Donovan Hoilette was named Patriot League Football Defensive Player of the Week for the first time. He recorded 3.5 sacks, a forced fumble, one quarterback hurry and a pass breakup in Richmond’s 31-24 win at Georgetown.
 
Lafayette junior placekicker Jack Simonetta earned Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week. He connected on a career-long 49-yard field goal and made all five of his PAT attempts in the Leopards’ 59-42 win over Colgate.
 
Raiders’ first-year wide receiver Matt Fogler was selected Patriot League Rookie of the Week for the second straight week. He became the first Raider to catch three touchdown passes in a single game since 2017.
 
Bucknell sophomore linebacker Brandon Biagiarelli, sophomore quarterback Chris Dietrich and senior punter/kicker Matt Schearer, Georgetown sophomore running back Savion Hart, Lafayette junior defensive back Avery Jones, Lehigh junior running back Luke Yoder and Richmond senior quarterback Ashten Snelsire received honorable mentions for their performances last week.
 
The Patriot League football players of the week are selected in a vote by League media members and each school’s football athletics communications contacts, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

Patriot League Football Credit Union 1 Offensive Player of the Week
Kente Edwards, Lafayette, Jr., RB, Annandale, N.J./North Hunterdon
*Edwards rushed for a career-high 260 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries to lead Lafayette to a 59-42 victory over Colgate, helping the Leopards improve to 5-0 in League play.  
*The junior running back scored on touchdown runs of 29, 6 and 49 yards, giving him 15 rushing touchdowns this season, one shy of matching Lafayette’s single-season program record.  
*He recorded his second 200-yard rushing game of the season and eclipsed 1,000 yards (1,032) in his eighth game of the season.
 
Patriot League Football Credit Union 1 Defensive Player of the Week
Donovan Hoilette, Richmond, Sr., DE, West Palm Beach, Fla./Palm Beach Central
*Hoilette recorded 3.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a QB hurry and a pass breakup in Richmond’s 31-24 victory over Georgetown.
*His 3.5 sacks are a career-high and the highest single-game sacks total in the Patriot League this season.
*The senior defensive end broke up a pass on Georgetown’s final play from scrimmage to help seal the Spiders’ second straight League win.
 
Patriot League Football Credit Union 1 Special Teams Player of the Week
Jack Simonetta, Lafayette, Jr., PK, Gotha, Fla./West Orange
*Simonetta connected on a career-long 49-yard field goal as time expired in the first half to give the Leopards a 38-21 lead in their eventual 59-42 win over Colgate.
*The junior placekicker hit all six of his PAT attempts to finish with nine points.
*He is 45-for-46 on PAT attempts and 5-of-5 on field-goal tries this season.  
 
Patriot League Football Credit Union 1 Rookie of the Week
Matt Fogler, Colgate, Fy., WR, Cincinnati, Ohio/Archbishop Moeller
*Fogler finished with 77 receiving yards and three touchdowns on five catches in Colgate’s 59-42 loss at Lafayette.
*He had touchdown receptions of 34 yards in the first quarter, 11 yards in the second and 18 yards in the fourth.
*The first-year receiver became the first Raider with three touchdown receptions in a game since 2017.
 
Honorable Mentions
Brandon Biagiarelli, Bucknell, So., LB, Pittsburgh, Pa./Avonworth
*Biagiarelli recorded 11 tackles, nine solo, to go with 1.5 TFLs and one sack in Bucknell’s 37-19 win over Fordham.
 
Chris Dietrich, Bucknell, So., QB, Sparta, N.J./Pope John XXIII
*Dietrich completed 17-of-22 passes (77.3 pct.) for 166 yards and three touchdowns to lead Bucknell to a 37-19 victory over Fordham.
 
Matt Schearer, Bucknell, Sr., P/K, Canonsburg, Pa./Central Catholic
*Schearer connected on 3-of-4 field-goal attempts, hitting from 48, 42 and 37 yards in Bucknell’s 37-19 win over Fordham. He also averaged 41.3 yards per punt on four attempts, placing all four inside the Rams’ 20-yard-line with a game-long of 53 yards.
 
Savion Hart, Georgetown, So., RB, Minneapolis, Md./St. Thomas Academy
*Hart rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries in Georgetown’s 31-24 loss against Richmond. He had a two-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and a 60-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.   
 
Avery Jones, Lafayette, Jr., DB, Philadelphia, Pa./Mount St. Joseph
*Jones made two interceptions, both in the second quarter, in Lafayette’s 59-42 win over Colgate. His first INT was returned 34 yards to help set up a Leopards’ touchdown with 41 seconds remaining in the half. Jones’ second interception came with seven seconds left in the first half.
 
Luke Yoder, Lehigh, Jr., RB, Palm Harbor, Fla./East Lake
*Yoder rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries in Lehigh’s 38-3 victory over Holy Cross, to improve to 10-0. The junior running back logged his fifth 100-yard game of the season, passing the 1000-yard mark (1,044).
 
Ashten Snelsire, Richmond, Sr., QB, Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur
*Snelsire entered the game in the third quarter and completed 5-of-10 passes for 114 yards and two fourth-quarter touchdown passes in Richmond’s 31-24 victory at Georgetown. He also rushed for a one-yard touchdown in the third quarter.
