Patriot League Women’s Basketball PenFed Credit Union Players of the Week Announced (11.24.25)

Loyola Maryland’s Therien, Lehigh’s Edwards earn Patriot League Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards

 
BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Loyola Maryland graduate forward Lex Therien was named Patriot League PenFed Credit Union Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Lehigh freshman forward Leia Edwards earned Rookie of the Week honors, as announced by the League office on Monday.
 
Therien collected Patriot League Player of the Week after averaging 23.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 3.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game and recording her 50th career double-double in a win over Yale.
 
Edwards earned Rookie of the Week honors after scoring a game-high 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting with five rebounds and six assists in Lehigh’s win over Drexel.
 
Army West Point junior forward Kya Smith, American sophomore guard Molly Driscoll, Navy junior guard Zanai Barnett-Gay, American freshman forward Charlotte Tuhy and Lafayette freshman guard Haylie Adamski received honorable mentions.
 
The Patriot League women’s basketball players of the week are selected in a vote by League media members and each school’s sports information director, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

*Therien averaged 23.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 3.0 steals and 1.0 blocks while shooting 64% across two games.
*The forward posted 26 points and 8 boards vs. Mount St. Mary’s, then recorded a 20-point, 11-rebound double-double in a win over Yale.
*Her performance vs. Yale marked her 50th career double-double, the most among all active Division I players.

Leia Edwards, Lehigh, Fy., F, London, England/Sierra Canyon
*Edwards scored a game-high 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting with five rebounds and six assists in Lehigh’s win over previously unbeaten Drexel.
*The freshman has reached double figures in all three of Lehigh’s home games this season.

Smith averaged 16.5 points and 11.5 rebounds on 66.7% shooting, highlighted by an 18-point, 14-rebound double-double against New Hampshire and a 15-point outing against Saint Francis.
 
Molly Driscoll, American, So., G, Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic
Driscoll led American in both games, scoring 18 against LIU before posting a career-high 29 points vs. La Salle on 9-for-15 shooting and 5-for-9 from three.
 
Zanai Barnett-Gay, Navy, Jr., G, Glenn Dale, Md./Riverdale Baptist
Barnett-Gay averaged 17.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 steals, including a 23-point double-double vs. Rider and an 11-point, four-steal performance at Richmond.
 
Charlotte Tuhy, American, Fr., F, Madison, N.J./Madison
Tuhy posted her third double-double of the season with 10 points and 14 rebounds against La Salle and added 10 points and nine boards vs. LIU.
 
Haylie Adamski, Lafayette, Fr., G, Media, Pa./Garnet Valley
Adamski scored 13 points on 4-for-7 shooting with three assists and three steals in Lafayette’s win at Wagner, her fourth straight double-figure game.
