BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Navy collected four of the six Patriot League men’s and women’s swimming and diving weekly awards when the League office announced the honors on Tuesday. Army West Point and Lehigh split the remaining honors.
Navy junior Ben Irwin collected Patriot League Men’s Swimmer of the Week honors after leading the Midshipmen to a 206–94 victory over Army West Point with two wins and a pair of second-place finishes.
Army West Point senior Molly Webber was selected as the Patriot League Women’s Swimmer of the Week, presented by Credit Union 1, for the fourth time this season after recording three first-place finishes against Navy.
For the second time this season, Navy senior Anthony Sciulli was named Patriot League Men’s Diver of the Week after earning first- and third-place finishes in the Midshipmen’s win over the Black Knights.
Navy senior Mackenzie Kim was recognized as the Patriot League Women’s Diver of the Week, presented by Credit Union 1, for the fourth time this year and 14th time in her career. Kim won both diving events in the Mids’ 152-148 victory over Army West Point.
Navy freshman Xavier Sohovich earned Patriot League Men’s Rookie of the Week honors following first and second-place performances during a home victory against Army West Point.
Lehigh first-year Eliza Johnson was recognized as the Patriot League Women’s Rookie of the Week, presented by Credit Union 1, after winning the 100-yard individual medley and 50-yard backstroke against Drexel.
Honorable mentions went to Army West Point sophomore Johnny Crush as well as Lehigh sophomore Jack Deppe, graduate student Jack Grotke, first-year Andrew Takach and junior Kate Whitaker.
The Patriot League men’s and women’s swimmers and divers of the week were selected in a vote by League head coaches, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.
Patriot League Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Ben Irwin, Navy, Jr., Buford, Ga./Buford
*Irwin posted two wins and a pair of second-place finishes during Navy’s 206–94 victory over Army West Point.
*The junior won the 200-yard backstroke with a meet record time of 1:39.93 and placed first in the 100-yard butterfly (46.93). He added a second-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 45.81, breaking the Navy record.
*The Buford, Ga. native swam on the 200-yard medley relay that finished in 1:23.80, a performance that tied both the Navy and Lejeune Hall records while surpassing the meet record.
Patriot League Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Molly Webber, Army West Point, Sr., Morris Plains, N.J./Morristown
*Webber recorded a trio of individual first-place finishes and a second-place finish in the women's 400-yard freestyle relay during Army West Point’s meet at Navy.
*The senior opened with a first-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle, setting a program and meet record with a time of 9:50.35.
*She returned to claim first place in the 200-yard freestyle (1:47.14) and 500-yard freestyle (4:48.74).
*The Morris Plains, N.J. native contributed to a second-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay (1:59.36).
Patriot League Men’s Diver of the Week
Anthony Sciulli, Navy, Sr., Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Lutheran
*Sciulli placed first in the one-meter event and third on the three-meter board during Navy’s 206-94 victory over Army West Point.
*The senior scored 302.40 points to win the one-meter and placed third in a 1-2-3 Navy finish in the three-meter event with 295.65 points.
Patriot League Women’s Diver of the Week
Mackenzie Kim, Navy, Sr., Diamond Bar, Calif./Diamond Bar
*Kim won both diving events in Navy’s 152-148 victory over Army West Point, scoring 274.95 points on the three-meter board to lead a 1-2-3 finish for the Mids.
*She returned to win the one-meter board by 17 points with a score of 279.30 points.
*The Diamond Bar, Calif. native earned her fourth Patriot League Women’s Diver of the Week honor this season and the 14th of her career.
Patriot League Men’s Rookie of the Week
Xavier Sohovich, Navy, Fr., Jacksonville, Fla./The Bolles School
*Sohovich earned a first and second-place finish in his two individual events during Navy’s 206-94 victory over Army West Point.
*The freshman led a 1–2–3 Navy sweep in the 200-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 1:33.77. His time broke the Navy record as well as the meet and Patriot League record.
*He added a runner-up finish in the 500-yard freestyle (4:21.70) and swam on the 400-yard freestyle relay that took third place.
Patriot League Women’s Rookie of the Week
Eliza Johnson, Lehigh, Fy., Wilmington, Del./Ursuline Academy
*Johnson won both of her individual events in Lehigh’s dual meet against Drexel, touching the wall first in the 100-yard individual medley (59.37) and 50-yard backstroke (26.98).
*The Wilmington, Del. native swam on the 200-yard medley relay that finished as the runner-up.

Johnny Crush, Army West Point, So., Louisville, Ky./Saint Xavier
*Crush opened Saturday’s action against Navy by setting program, meet, Patriot League and pool records in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:22.95
*The sophomore went on to post three top-three finishes, winning the 100-yard backstroke in 44.72 and placing third in the 100-yard freestyle in 43.27.
*The Louisville, Ky., native also anchored Army’s 400-yard freestyle relay, which delivered a winning time of 2:50.18, setting program, meet, Patriot League and Lejeune Hall pool records.
Jack Deppe, Lehigh, So., Davidsonville, Md./South River
*Deppe was Lehigh’s lone event winner in the dual meet against Drexel, clocking a winning time of 2:58.98 in the 300-yard individual medley. He took second in the 100-yard IM in 52.03 and contributed to a mixed 200-yard freestyle relay that placed fourth.
Jack Grotke, Lehigh, Gr., Frankfort, Ill./Illinois Math and Science Academy
*Grotke placed fourth in both diving events in Lehigh’s dual meet against Drexel, scoring 149.60 points in the one-meter dive and 131.65 points on the three-meter board.
Andrew Takach, Lehigh, Fy., Sterling, Va./Rock Ridge
*Takach earned a pair of top-five finishes in Lehigh’s dual meet against Drexel. The first-year was the runner-up in the 300-yard individual medley (3:02.52) and swam 27.77 to finish fifth in the 50-yard breaststroke.

*Whitaker continued her dominant season against Drexel, placing second on the one-meter board with 212.75 points and winning the three-meter board with 227.10 points.
