Army West Point’s Record-Setting Rookie
Army West Point’s Johnny Crush made an immediate splash as the freshman set three Patriot League records in the Black Knights’ regular-season meet against Navy in December. The Louisville, Ky. native posted record-setting times in the 100-yard freestyle (42.55), 100-yard backstroke (44.52) and 200-yard backstroke (1:40.28). Additionally, Crush was honored as the Patriot League Men’s Swimmer of the Week a League record seven times this year, eclipsing the mark held by Navy’s Adam Meyer (2007-08) and Mac Anthony (2011-12).
Two Additional Patriot League Records Shattered
Two additional Patriot League marks were broken this season, including Army West Point’s Wes Tate’s record-setting time in the 200-yard freestyle (1:34.37) and Loyola Maryland’s Lily Mead’s record-breaking performance in the 100-yard backstroke (52.86).
