BALTIMORE – Colgate’s efficient shooting lifted the Raiders to a 74-59 victory over Loyola Maryland, keeping them in the thick of the Patriot League standings race.
*Colgate opened the game on a 6-0 run, scoring on three consecutive possessions before Loyola Maryland rallied to tie it at 8-8. The Raiders responded with a 9-2 run to close the first quarter.
*Both teams traded runs in the second quarter, but Colgate maintained a seven-point advantage to lead 34-27 at halftime.
*The Raiders pulled away in the second half with a 23-point third quarter, led by senior guard Taylor Golembiewski and senior forward Sophia Diehl. Colgate maintained its momentum in the fourth to seal the win.
*Golembiewski led the Raiders with 18 points, while junior guard Anne Bair added 12 points and senior guard Morgan McMahon contributed 10 off the bench.
*Sophomore guard Amandine Amorich paced Loyola Maryland with a game-high 19 points, while League-leading rebounder Koi Sims grabbed nine boards.
