ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Navy's
Ben Irwin has received an invitation to compete at the NCAA Swimming Championship, slated to be held March 27-29 at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash.
Irwin earned his spot in the national championship with his time of 1:40.04 in the 200 back. That effort placed him 26th in the country this season.
Irwin also has the opportunity to compete in the 100 back and 200 fly events as he posted a B cut time of 45.92 in the former and 1:42.99 in the latter. He ranks 40th in the field in each of those events.
Navy's divers finished competition at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championship on Wednesday.
Finn Gelbach advanced to the finals in both springboard events. He accrued 702.35 points to finish in seventh place on the three-meter board and totaled 612.90 points to place 12th in the one-meter event.
Mackenzie Kim took part in all three events at the meet. Her best finish was in Wednesday's platform competition where she placed 20th. She also placed 58th on the three-meter board and 63rd in the one-meter event.
Also competing at the meet was
Anthony Sciulli, who placed 20th in one meter and 32nd in three meter.
