Patriot League Announces Women’s Lacrosse Players of the Week (4.7.25)

Army West Point received two honors; Bucknell, Loyola Maryland and Navy picked up one apiece

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Army West Point collected two of the five Patriot League women’s lacrosse weekly awards when the League office announced honors on Monday. Bucknell, Loyola Maryland and Navy received one accolade apiece.
 
Army West Point junior Allison Reilly claimed her fourth Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Attacker of the Week of the season after posting eight points on six goals and two assists in the Black Knights’ 16-13 win at American.
 
The Black Knights’ Brigid Duffy earned her fourth Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Midfielder of the Week of the season and 10th of her career by recording six goals, two assists, nine draw controls, two ground balls and one caused turnover in a 16-13 win at American.  
 
Bucknell sophomore Kiera McClanahan collected her first Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week after tallying five caused turnovers and five ground balls in the Bison’s 10-9 loss against Colgate.
 
Loyola Maryland senior Lauren Spence received Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Goalkeeper Player of the Week for the second time this season. She did not allow a goal and made six saves in the first half of the Greyhounds’ 17-4 win against Lafayette.
 
Navy freshman attack Alyssa Chung was named Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week honors for the fifth time and fourth straight week, posting six points on four goals and two assists in the Mids’ 19-8 win over Holy Cross.
 
American senior goalkeeper Caleigh Forti and junior midfielder Reagan Murdoch, Army West Point junior defender Sarah Chernik, Colgate senior midfielder Lucy Licata, Holy Cross senior midfielder Ella Kittredge, Lehigh sophomore attack Molly Snow, Loyola Maryland senior attack Georgia Latch and senior defender Lily Osborne and Navy junior midfielder Maggie DeFabio and sophomore goalkeeper Felicia Giglio all earned honorable mentions for their performances last week.
 
The Patriot League women’s lacrosse players of the week were selected in a vote by each school’s women’s lacrosse athletics communications contacts, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE ATTACKER OF THE WEEK
Allison Reilly, Army West Point, Jr., Attack, Sayville, N.Y./Sayville
*Reilly finished with a game-high eight points on six goals and two assists to lead Army West Point to a 16-13 win at American on Saturday.
*The junior attack’s sixth goal proved to be the game-winner. She also added two draw controls and one ground ball.
*The Sayville, N.Y. native tied the Army program record with her 86th career assist and currently leads the Patriot League with 6.09 points per game.
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE MIDFIELDER OF THE WEEK
Brigid Duffy, Army West Point, Jr., Midfielder, Queensbury, N.Y./Queensbury
*Duffy registered six goals, two assists and won a game-high nine draw controls to help Army West Point hold off American in a 16-13 road win.
*The junior midfielder added two ground balls and one caused turnover while going 2-for-3 on free-positions.
*The Queensbury, N.Y. native leads the Patriot League in goals per game (4.00) and is second in caused turnovers per game (2.18) and ground balls per game (2.82).
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kiera McClanahan, Bucknell, So., Defender, Alexandria, Va./Bishop Ireton
*McClanahan caused a career-high five turnovers and picked up five ground balls in Bucknell’s 10-9 loss against Colgate on Saturday.   
*The sophomore defender also recorded four draw controls.
*She was part of a defensive unit that limited the Raiders to 14 shots on goal.
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Lauren Spence, Loyola Maryland, Sr., Goalkeeper, Evergreen, Colo./Evergreen
*Spence made six saves and did not allow a goal in the first half of the Greyhounds’ 17-4 win over Lafayette.
*She also had two ground balls, and one caused turnover.
*The senior goalkeeper is third in the Patriot League in goals-against average (10.63) and save percentage (.465).
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Alyssa Chung, Navy, Fr., Attack, Severna Park, Md./Severna Park
*Chung finished with six points on four goals and two assists to lead Navy to a 19-8 victory over Holy Cross, who was previously unbeaten in League play.
*The freshman attack scored during the Mids’ opening 3-0 run, then added a pair of goals in the second quarter to help build a 13-5 halftime lead.
*She added two assists in the third quarter and leads the Mids with 5.80 points per game in five Patriot League games.
 
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Caleigh Forti, American, Sr., Goalkeeper, Towson, Md./Mercy
*Forti recorded a .515 save percentage with a career-high 17 saves in a 16-13 loss against then No. 22/25 Army West Point. She made six saves in the third quarter to help the Eagles take a 12-11 lead into the fourth quarter. The senior goalkeeper reached 300 career saves and leads the Patriot League with 136 saves this season.
 
Reagan Murdoch, American, Jr., Midfielder, Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon
*Murdoch led the Eagles with four points on three goals and one assist in a 16-13 loss vs. No. 25/22 Army West Point. She also added two ground balls, and one caused turnover.  
 
Sarah Chernik, Army West Point, Jr., Defender, Milton, Ga./Blessed Trinity Catholic
*Chernik won seven draw controls and picked up three ground balls in Army West Point’s 16-13 victory over American. She helped the Black Knights win 11-of-13 draws in the second half to hold off the Eagles.
 
Lucy Licata, Colgate, Sr., Midfielder, Hopkinton, N.H./The Derryfield School
*Licata scored two goals and registered 16 draw controls to lead Colgate to a 10-9 victory over Bucknell on Saturday. The senior midfielder also picked up one ground ball in the win. She set a Raiders’ single-season program record with 118 draw controls.
 
Ella Kittredge, Holy Cross, Sr., Midfielder, Somers, N.Y./Somers
*Kittredge scored a team-high four goals and added two draw controls and one ground ball in the Crusaders’ loss vs. No. 22/23 Navy. She posted her 10th multi-goal game of the season.
 
Molly Snow, Lehigh, So., Attack, Wilton, Conn./Wilton
*Snow led the Mountain Hawks with seven points on five goals and two assists in a 15-14 overtime win over Boston University. The sophomore attack assisted the game-winning goal in overtime. She also added five draw controls, three caused turnovers and one ground ball.
 
Georgia Latch, Loyola Maryland, Sr., Attack, Melbourne, Australia/Williamstown
*Latch finished with eight points on five goals and three assists in the Greyhounds’ 17-4 win over Lafayette to remain undefeated in League play. She also added a career-high 10 draw controls, two ground balls and one caused turnover.
 
Lily Osborne, Loyola Maryland, Sr., Defender, Oxford, Md./Easton
*Osborne recorded four caused turnovers and picked up three ground balls in Loyola Maryland’s 17-4 victory over Lafayette to improve to 6-0 in League play. The senior defender led a Greyhounds defensive unit that limited the Leopards to 14 shots. She held Lafayette’s Sara Rogers to one assist.
 
Maggie DeFabio, Navy, Jr., Midfielder, Summit, N.J./Summit
*DeFabio recorded career-highs of seven points and six goals to go along with one assist, two ground balls and a caused turnover in Navy’s 19-8 victory over Holy Cross on Saturday. The junior midfielder scored four first-half goals to help the Mids go into the break with a 13-5 lead.
 
Felicia Giglio, Navy, So., Goalkeeper, Bayport, N.Y./Bayport Blue-Point
*Giglio posted a .529 save percentage with nine saves and held Holy Cross to eight goals in a 19-8 victory. The sophomore goalkeeper helped the Mids to their sixth game holding an opponent to single-digit goals this season. She also picked up two ground balls.
