Patriot League Women’s Soccer Players of the Week Announced (8.18.25)

Heaven, Henry, Kennel, Prouty and Stramrood receive weekly honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Navy captured two Patriot League women’s soccer weekly awards presented by PenFed Credit Union, when the League office announced the first set of honors for the 2025 season on Monday. Army West Point, Boston University and Loyola Maryland each received one weekly accolade.

Navy senior forward Marlee Heaven was named Patriot League Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the third time in her career after leading the Mids to a 2-0 start with two goals.

Boston University freshman Georgia Prouty was tabbed Patriot League Women’s Soccer Midfielder of the Week after scoring her first collegiate goal in the Terriers’ 3-0 win over New Hampshire.

Loyola Maryland graduate student Riley Kennel earned Patriot League Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors after scoring her second career goal in a 1-0-1 week for the Greyhounds.

For the first time in her career, Navy sophomore Natasha Stramrood collected Patriot League Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week after totaling five saves and two clean sheets in a 2-0 week for the Mids.

Army West Point freshman forward Sophia Henry garnered Patriot League Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week after scoring two goals in the Black Knights’ 4-1 victory over Manhattan.

Army West Point senior midfielder Brigid Duffy and senior defender Jordan Follenweider, Boston University sophomore forward Juliana Osterman, senior goalkeeper Susan Shobeiri and senior defender Helene Tyburczy, Holy Cross sophomore midfielder Keilly Quezada and Loyola Maryland freshman forward Savannah Manset garnered honorable mentions for their performances last week.  

The Patriot League women’s soccer players of the week are selected in a vote by League head coaches, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

Patriot League Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Marlee Heaven, Navy, Sr., Forward, Rockville, Md./Richard Montgomery
*Heaven helped Navy start the season 2-0 after scoring the opening goal in wins over Robert Morris (3-0) and Temple (2-0) last week.
*The senior notched her first goal of the season in the 15th minute at Robert Morris on Thursday, before scoring in the 15th minute of Sunday’s victory over the Owls.
*The goals marked Heaven’s 12th and 13th career tallies.

Patriot League Women’s Soccer Midfielder of the Week
Georgia Prouty, Boston University, Fr., Midfielder, Danvers, Mass./Danvers
*Making the start in her collegiate debut, Prouty netted her first career goal to jump-start Boston University’s 3-0 win over New Hampshire on Sunday. The Danvers, Mass. native found the back of the net in the 31st minute and became the first freshman Terrier to record the team’s opening goal of the season since 2022.

Patriot League Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Riley Kennel, Loyola Maryland, Gr., Defender, Redondo Beach, Calif./Redondo Union
*Kennel scored Loyola Maryland’s first goal of the season in the 35th minute of Thursday’s 1-1 draw at Florida Atlantic.
*The graduate student played a key role on the back line in Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Saint Peter’s, limiting the Peacocks to two shots on goal.

Patriot League Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week
Natasha Stramrood, Navy, So., Goalkeeper, Cypress, Texas/Tomball
*Stramrood totaled five saves, two clean sheets and her first collegiate point in Navy’s victories at Robert Morris (3-0) and against Temple (2-0) last week.
*The sophomore collected three saves over 76 minutes in Thursday’s season opener before making two first-half stops and assisting on the Mids’ second goal in Sunday’s 2-0 win against the Owls.
*The clean sheet marked Stramrood’s fourth career shutout.

Patriot League Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week
Sophia Henry, Army West Point, Fr., Forward, Springfield, Va./Lake Braddock
*Henry led Army West Point to a 4-1 victory over Manhattan on Sunday with a pair of goals. The freshman scored her first collegiate goal in the 25th minute before finding the back of the net in the 27th minute to stretch the Black Knights’ lead to 3-0.

Brigid Duffy, Army West Point, Sr., Midfielder, Queensbury, N.Y./Queensbury
*Duffy helped Army West Point secure its first victory of the season with a goal in the 63rd minute at Manhattan on Sunday. The senior started in both Black Knights’ games this week, totaling 157 minutes.

Jordan Follenweider, Army West Point, Sr., Defender, Jacksonville, Fla./Bartam Trails
*Follenweider recorded an assist in Army West Point’s dominant 4-1 victory over Manhattan on Sunday. In a two-game week for the Black Knights, the senior played 165 minutes across two starts.

Juliana Osterman, Boston University, So., Forward, Roxbury, N.J./Roxbury
*Osterman paced the Terriers’ offense with a career-high three points in a 3-0 win over America East preseason favorite New Hampshire on Sunday.
*The sophomore provided an assist on Boston University’s first goal before finding the back of the net in the 35th minute. It marked the Roxbury, N.J. native’s first career multi-point effort.

Susan Shobeiri, Boston University, Sr., Goalkeeper, McLean, Va./McLean
*In her collegiate debut, Shobeiri made one save and posted a shutout against America East preseason favorite New Hampshire in a 3-0 win on Sunday.  
*The McLean, Va. native is the first Terrier since 2007 to record a 90-minute clean sheet in her debut.

Helene Tyburczy, Boston University, Sr., Defender, Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey
*Tyburczy anchored a Terrier defense that shut out America East preseason favorite New Hampshire in a 3-0 win on Sunday. The senior helped the back line limit the Wildcats to one shot on goal and six shots overall.

Keilly Quezada, Holy Cross, So., Midfielder, Cumberland, R.I./Moses Brown School
*Quezada scored her first collegiate goal and Holy Cross’ first of the season in a 1-1 tie at Northeastern on Sunday. The sophomore helped the Crusaders earn their first draw with the Huskies since 2002.

Savannah Manset, Loyola Maryland, Fr., Forward, Wilmington, N.C./Eugene Ashley
*Manset recorded a goal and an assist in a 1-0-1 week for Loyola Maryland, including scoring her first career goal in the 26th minute of the Greyhounds’ 2-0 victory over Saint Peter’s on Sunday. The freshman assisted on Loyola Maryland’s goal in the season-opening 1-1 draw at Florida Atlantic on Thursday.
