Patriot League Men’s Soccer Players of the Week Announced (8.25.25)

Colgate earns three weekly awards, while Bucknell and Navy each earn one

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Colgate captured three Patriot League men’s soccer weekly awards presented by PenFed Credit Union, when the League office announced the first set of honors for the 2025 season on Monday. Bucknell and Navy each received one weekly award.
 
Bucknell junior forward Jack Lucas collected Patriot League Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors, scoring two goals, including a game-winner, in Bucknell’s 2-0 week.
 
Navy sophomore midfielder Duncan Sullivan earned Patriot League Men’s Soccer Midfielder of the Week honors after recording his first career multi-point game in the Mids’ 2-2 draw against Mount St. Mary’s.
 
Colgate sophomore defender Julian Di Lucia was named Patriot League Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Raiders’ defense to two consecutive shutouts.
 
Colgate senior goalkeeper Eric Widrick nabbed Patriot League Men’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week honors after recording two shutouts to help the Raiders to a 1-0-1 week.
 
Colgate first-year forward Ryan Schachter earned Patriot League Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week after scoring his first career goal in the Raiders’ 3-0 win over Stonehill.
 
Army West Point junior forward Jubril Bamgbala, sophomore defender Miles Hadley and sophomore goalkeeper Michael Guiry, Colgate first-year forward Cole Ramey, Loyola Maryland freshman defender Jack Endacott and Bucknell freshman Jacob Thomas were named honorable mentions.
 
The Patriot League men’s soccer players of the week are selected in a vote by League head coaches, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

Patriot League Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Jack Lucas, Bucknell, Jr., F, Leawood, Kan./Shawnee Mission East

*Lucas recorded a goal in each of Bucknell’s first two matches to open the 2025 campaign.
*The junior netted the 75th-minute game-winner in the Bison’s 2-1 victory over three-time defending CAA champion and No. 23 Hofstra, drilling a line drive into the top right corner from just outside the box.
*Lucas added his second goal of the week against St. Bonaventure, converting a 25-yard free kick off the near post to tie the match at 2-2 early in the second half.
 
Patriot League Men’s Soccer Midfielder of the Week
Duncan Sullivan, Navy, M, Murphy, Tex./ Plano East Senior

*Sullivan tallied a three-point effort in Navy’s 2-2 draw against Mount St. Mary’s for his first career multi-point game.
*The sophomore scored his first career goal ,converting a penalty kick in the 12th minute to put the Mids up 1-0.
*Sullivan tacked on an assist in the 56th minute setting up Andrew Schug to put Navy up 2-1.
 
Patriot League Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Julian Di Lucia, Colgate, So., D, Markham, Ontario/Scarborough Academy

*Di Lucia played all 90 minutes in both matches to help Colgate open the season with back-to-back clean sheets for the first time since 2016.
*The sophomore anchored a Raiders back line that held opponents scoreless across 180 minutes of play.


Patriot League Men’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week
Eric Widrick, Colgate, Sr., GK, Arlington, Mass./Arlington

*Widrick played all 90 minutes in goal in both matches to help Colgate open the season with back-to-back shutouts for the first time since 2016.
*The senior posted seven saves in a 1-0 win over Stonehill before matching that total in a 0-0 draw against New Hampshire.
 
Patriot League Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week
Ryan Schachter, Colgate, Fy., F, Fairfield, Conn./
Fairfield Warde
*Schachter recorded his first career goal and added an assist in Colgate’s season-opening win over Stonehill.
*The freshman logged 57 minutes and placed one shot on target in a 0-0 draw with New Hampshire.
 
Honorable Mentions
Jubril Bamgbala, Army West Point, Jr., F, North Providence, R.I./La Salle Academy
Bamgbala opened the season with two goals for Army West Point, scoring the lone tally in the opener against Fairfield before netting the game-winner in Sunday’s 2-1 victory at Penn State with a header early in the second half.
 
Cole Ramey, Colgate, Fy., F, Richardson, Tex./Plano East
Ramey recorded a goal and an assist in the Raiders’ season opener against Stonehill to lead Colgate to victory, 3-0.
 
Miles Hadley, Army West Point, So., D, Atlanta, Ga./Midtown
Hadley scored his first goal of the season – and second of his career – in the 40th minute against Penn State, heading in a cross from Ronald Zhai to give Army a 1-0 halftime lead. He played all 90 minutes and was instrumental in the Black Knights securing their first Power Four win since 1988.
 
Jack Endacott, Loyola Maryland, Fr., D, Plymouth, England/Ivybridge Community College
Endacott opened the scoring in Loyola’s win over NJIT on Thursday, converting a volley off a give-and-go with Tyler Flynn to give the Greyhounds an early 1-0 lead. He started both matches during the week, logging 116 minutes of action.
 
Michael Guiry, Army West Point, So., GK, Jacksonville, Ga./Fletcher
Guiry earned his first career win in his debut start Sunday night against Big Ten opponent Penn State, making six saves on seven shots — including five in the second half — to help Army secure the victory.
 
Thomas Jacob, Bucknell, Fr., D, Reading, Pa./ The Hill School
Thomas made an immediate impact in Bucknell’s first two matches, scoring a 25-yard equalizer in the opener against No. 23 Hofstra and firing three shots in the team’s second match against St. Bonaventure.
