Patriot League Women’s Soccer Players of the Week Announced (8.25.25)

Apker, Gianino, Henry, Khachatourians and Willis collect weekly honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Loyola Maryland collected two Patriot League women’s soccer weekly awards presented by PenFed Credit Union, when the League office announced the honors on Monday. Army West Point, Boston University and Lafayette each earned one weekly accolade.

Loyola Maryland junior forward Francesca Khachatourians collected Patriot League Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after scoring the game-winner and her first career goal in the Greyhounds’ 2-1 victory over Princeton on Sunday.

Boston University senior Giulianna Gianino was named Patriot League Women’s Soccer Midfielder of the Week for the fourth time in her career after registering six points on two goals and two assists.

Loyola Maryland senior Zoe Willis was tabbed Patriot League Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after tallying an assist in a 2-0 week for the Greyhounds.

Lafayette junior Catherine Apker, who made 10 saves and recorded her 10th career shutout, was selected as the Patriot League Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week.

For the second straight week, Army West Point forward Sophia Henry earned Patriot League Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week as the freshman scored twice in a 3-2 win at UAlbany.

Army West Point senior midfielder Brigid Duffy, Boston University senior defender Helene Tyburczy, Bucknell senior forward Henna Andican, Lehigh graduate student midfielder Faith Dobosiewicz and Loyola Maryland freshman forward Savannah Manset and junior goalkeeper Brigid Mulholland garnered honorable mentions for their performances last week.  

The Patriot League women’s soccer players of the week are selected in a vote by League head coaches, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

Patriot League Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Francesca Khachatourians, Loyola Maryland, Jr., Forward, Manhattan Beach, Calif.
*Khachatourians scored her first career goal in Loyola Maryland’s 2-1 win over Princeton on Sunday as the junior provided the game-winner in the 66th minute.
*The Manhattan Beach, Calif. native logged 41 minutes in a 2-0 week for the Greyhounds.

Patriot League Women’s Soccer Midfielder of the Week
Giulianna Gianino, Boston University, Sr., Midfielder, Norwell, Mass./Norwell
*Gianino recorded six points on two goals and two assists across a 1-1 week for Boston University. The senior opened with an assist on the game-tying goal against Fairfield on Thursday.
*The Norwell, Mass. native followed with five points on two goals and an assist in the Terriers’ 3-1 road victory over defending America East champion Maine on Sunday.
*Gianino became the 10th Terrier in program history to eclipse 50 career points.

Patriot League Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Zoe Willis, Loyola Maryland, Sr., Defender, Cary, N.C./Green Level
*Willis played 180 minutes over two games, leading the Loyola Maryland back line in a 2-0 week with victories over William & Mary (1-0) and Princeton (2-1).
*In the 2-1 win over Princeton on Sunday, Willis provided the assist on the game-winning goal in the 66th minute.
*It marked the second time in Willis’ career that she was named Patriot League Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Patriot League Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week
Catherine Apker, Lafayette, Jr., Goalkeeper, Homer, N.Y./Homer
*Apker made six saves to earn her 10th career shutout in Lafayette’s 0-0 draw against Drexel on Sunday.
*The junior is tied for the Patriot League lead in shutouts (2) this season, while ranking fourth in goals-against average (.667) and save percentage (.857).
*The Homer, N.Y. native has now earned Patriot League Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week four times in her career.

Patriot League Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week
Sophia Henry, Army West Point, Fr., Forward, Springfield, Va./Lake Braddock
*Henry, the reigning Patriot League Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week, recorded two goals in the Black Knights’ 3-2 victory at UAlbany on Sunday. The freshman played 164 minutes in a 2-0 week for Army West Point.
*The Springfield, Va. native leads the Patriot League in goals (4) and points (8) through four games this season.

Brigid Duffy, Army West Point, Sr., Midfielder, Queensbury, N.Y./Queensbury
*Duffy recorded four points on two goals in a 2-0 week for Army West Point, which included victories over Air Force (2-1) and UAlbany (3-2). The senior scored the game-winner in the 57th minute against the Falcons on Thursday and followed with the game-winning goal in the 89th minute against UAlbany on Sunday.

Helene Tyburczy, Boston University, Sr., Defender, Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey
*Tyburczy scored her first collegiate goal in the 66th minute of Boston University’s 2-1 loss against Farfield on Thursday. The senior returned to anchor the Terriers’ back line in a 3-1 victory at Maine on Sunday, limiting the Black Bears to seven shots.

Henna Andican, Bucknell, Sr., Forward, Boonton Township, N.J./Mountain Lakes
*Andican registered three points on a goal and an assist in a 1-1 week for Bucknell. The senior scored her second goal of the season 46 seconds into Sunday’s 2-1 win over FDU.
*In Thursday’s match at Monmouth, Andican provided an assist on the game-tying goal in the 88th minute.

Faith Dobosiewicz, Lehigh, Gr., Midfielder, Westfield, N.J./Westfield
*Dobosiewicz scored both goals in Lehigh’s 2-1 win at La Salle on Wednesday. The graduate student tied the game at 1-1 in the 66th minute with a penalty kick, before scoring the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute.

Savannah Manset, Loyola Maryland, Fr., Forward, Wilmington, N.C./Eugene Ashley
*Manset tallied the game-winning goal in the 80th minute of Loyola Maryland’s 1-0 win at William & Mary on Thursday as the Greyhounds finished the week 2-0 following a 2-1 victory over Princeton on Sunday.
