BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Lafayette could not keep pace with MAC opponent Bowling Green in its season opener at Doyt L. Perry Stadium on Thursday night, falling 26-7.
*Senior quarterback Dean DeNobile connected on a five-yard touchdown pass to senior wide receiver Elijah Steward with 3:39 remaining in the third quarter to put the Leopards on the scoreboard.
*DeNobile completed 13-of-26 passes for 112 yards and a touchdown, while Steward caught three passes for 26 yards and a score.
*Junior tight end Ethan Hosak caught two passes for a team-high 30 yards.
*Junior linebacker Robert Stevens led the Leopards’ defense with 11 tackles and one sack for a loss of eight yards.
*Sophomore defensive back Ryan Gadson and freshman linebacker Beckham Dee posted nine and eight tackles, respectively, while junior linebacker Darson Jeanty recorded four tackles, 2.0 TFLs and a half sack.
