BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Army West Point claimed three of the five Patriot League Men’s Soccer weekly honors presented by PenFed Credit Union when the League office announced its fourth set of weekly awards on Monday. Lehigh and Holy Cross each earned one weekly award.
Lehigh senior forward Beckett Wenger collected Patriot League Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors after scoring a goal and assisting on the game-winner to lead the Mountain Hawks to a 2-1 victory over Loyola Maryland.
Army West Point senior midfielder Jack Meyer earned Patriot League Men’s Soccer Midfielder of the Week recognition after recording his first career assist and playing a pivotal role in the Black Knights’ strong defensive efforts during a pair of victories.
Army West Point senior defender Kelly Cooper was named Patriot League Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal and anchoring the Black Knights’ back line that posted two shutouts.
Army West Point sophomore goalkeeper Michael Guiry nabbed Patriot League Men’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week honors after totaling 10 saves in back-to-back shutout performances.
Holy Cross freshman forward Archie Hatcher earned Patriot League Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week after netting his first career goal in the Crusaders’ 1-1 draw at Navy to open Patriot League play.
Army West Point’s Jack De Simone and Nicholas Berardi, Lehigh’s Trey Sheeler and Anton Kinnunen, American’s Sebastian Garces, and Bucknell’s Jackson Sullivan earned honorable mentions.
The Patriot League men’s soccer players of the week are chosen in a vote by League head coaches, who are not eligible to vote for their own student-athletes.

*Guiry improved to 3-0-1 on the season while lowering his goals-against average to 0.50.
