BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Colgate earned three of the five Patriot League women’s soccer weekly awards presented by PenFed Credit Union, when the League office announced the honors on Monday. Army West Point collected the two remaining awards.
Black Knights’ senior midfielder Brigid Duffy was recognized as the Patriot League Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career after scoring three goals in a 2-0 week for Army West Point.
Colgate senior midfielder Ari Bezanson earned Patriot League Women’s Soccer Midfielder of the Week after scoring two goals in a pair of Raiders wins.
Army West Point junior Jordan Follenweider anchored a Black Knights’ back line in a pair of 3-1 victories to collect Patriot League Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Raiders’ junior Ella Poppinga made 10 second-half saves and helped Colgate to a 2-0 week to be named Patriot League Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week.
Colgate first-year midfielder Lydia Thornton scored the game-winning goal in the 78th minute of the Raiders’ 2-1 win at Dartmouth to collect Patriot League Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week.
Honorable mentions went to American sophomore goalkeeper Addison Roemer, Army West Point sophomore forward Bella Conti, Bucknell sophomore goalkeeper Reese Dolan, Holy Cross sophomore defender Caroline Bierfeldt, Lehigh first-year forward Tori Okorodudu and Navy freshman defender Helen Bonner.
The Patriot League women’s soccer players of the week are selected in a vote by League head coaches, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

Patriot League Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Brigid Duffy, Army West Point, Sr., Midfielder, Queensbury, N.Y./Queensbury
*Duffy registered six points on three goals to lead Army West Point to a 2-0 week. The senior scored her second career brace in a 3-1 victory over North Texas on Thursday, finding the back of the net in the 41st and 80th minutes.
*She scored the opening goal in the 11th minute of a 3-1 win over Princeton on Sunday, helping her surpass 50 career points.
*The Queensbury, N.Y. native is tied for the Patriot League lead in goals (6) and tied for second in points (12).
*It marks the fourth weekly award of Duffy’s career as she is a two-time Midfielder of the Week (Oct. 8, 2023, Sept. 16, 2024) and one-time Rookie of the Week (Sept. 5, 2022). She has also won 11 weekly awards in women’s lacrosse so far in her career.

*Bezanson scored two goals in a 2-0 week for Colgate, which included road victories at Dartmouth (2-1) and Le Moyne (2-0).
*The senior scored 78 seconds into the 2-1 win over Dartmouth on Thursday before netting the game-winning goal in the sixth minute against Le Moyne on Sunday.
*The Danvers, Mass. native is tied for ninth in goals (3) and tied for 10th in points (7) in the Patriot League.
Patriot League Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Jordan Follenweider, Army West Point, Jr., Defender, Jacksonville, Fla./Bartram Trails
*Follenweider anchored Army West Point’s defense in 3-1 victories over North Texas and Princeton. The junior played all 90 minutes in both matches to earn her second career Defensive Player of the Week honor.

*Poppinga helped Colgate to a 2-0 week, which included making 10 saves in the Raiders’ 2-1 victory at Dartmouth.
*The junior posted her second shutout of the season in a 2-0 win at Le Moyne on Sunday.
*The New York, N.Y. native leads the Patriot League in saves (47) and saves per game (5.22).
Patriot League Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week
Lydia Thornton, Colgate, Fy., Midfielder, West Chester, Pa./West Chester East
*Thornton played a key role in a 2-0 week for Colgate as the first-year scored the game-winning goal in the 78th minute of a 2-1 win at Dartmouth on Thursday. The West Chester, Pa. native logged 46 minutes in a 2-0 win at Le Moyne on Sunday.

*Roemer made a career-high 10 saves, all in the second half, to help American preserve a 0-0 draw at George Mason on Sunday. The sophomore ranks third in the Patriot League in save percentage (.824) and saves per game (4.67).
Bella Conti, Army West Point, So., Forward, Allentown, N.J./Allentown
*Conti helped Army West Point to a 2-0 week, making her first start of the season in a 3-1 victory over Princeton on Sunday. The sophomore assisted on Sabrina Rogers’ goal in the 71st minute.
Reese Dolan, Bucknell, So., Goalkeeper, Monroe, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury
*Dolan recorded 12 saves and allowed only two goals in a 0-1-1 week for Bucknell. The sophomore made five stops against Georgetown on Thursday before recording a career-high seven saves in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Towson.

*Bierfeldt started and played both games against UAlbany and Rhode Island, helping lead the Crusaders’ defense to a shutout against the Great Danes.

*Okorodudu scored her first career goal in the 59th minute to help Lehigh to a 1-1 draw against Seton Hall on Sunday.
