BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Colgate collected three of the five Patriot League Men’s Soccer weekly honors presented by PenFed Credit Union when the League office announced its fifth set of weekly awards on Monday. Lehigh earned the remaining two weekly honors.
Lehigh sophomore midfielder Giacomo Zizza was named both Patriot League Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Midfielder of the Week after scoring two goals and totaling four points.
Colgate senior defender Liam Winograd earned Patriot League Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week recognition after playing all 90 minutes in both matches, anchoring a Raiders’ back line that allowed zero goals across two games.
Colgate senior goalkeeper Eric Widrick collected Patriot League Men’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week honors by posting back-to-back clean sheets against UAlbany and Bucknell with seven total saves.
Colgate freshman forward Cole Ramey was named Patriot League Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over UAlbany.
Boston University’s Andrea Di Blasio, American’s Troy Elgersma, Taku Takahashi, and Matthew Tibbetts, and Holy Cross’ Thomas Mancuso, Kyle Martell, and Archie Hatcher all received honorable mentions.
The Patriot League men’s soccer players of the week are chosen in a vote by League head coaches, who are not eligible to vote for their own student-athletes.
