BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Colgate collected three of the five Patriot League Men’s Soccer weekly honors presented by PenFed Credit Union when the League office announced its fifth set of weekly awards on Monday. Lehigh earned the remaining two weekly honors.
 
Lehigh sophomore midfielder Giacomo Zizza was named both Patriot League Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Midfielder of the Week after scoring two goals and totaling four points.
 
Colgate senior defender Liam Winograd earned Patriot League Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week recognition after playing all 90 minutes in both matches, anchoring a Raiders’ back line that allowed zero goals across two games.
 
Colgate senior goalkeeper Eric Widrick collected Patriot League Men’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week honors by posting back-to-back clean sheets against UAlbany and Bucknell with seven total saves.
 
Colgate freshman forward Cole Ramey was named Patriot League Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over UAlbany.

Boston University’s Andrea Di Blasio, American’s Troy Elgersma, Taku Takahashi, and Matthew Tibbetts, and Holy Cross’ Thomas Mancuso, Kyle Martell, and Archie Hatcher all received honorable mentions.
 
The Patriot League men’s soccer players of the week are chosen in a vote by League head coaches, who are not eligible to vote for their own student-athletes.

Patriot League Men’s Soccer Offensive Player and Midfielder of the Week

*Zizza scored two goals and totaled four points in a 0-1-1 week for the Mountain Hawks.
*The sophomore scored two goals in Lehigh’s 3-3 draw at Army West Point, including a strike in the 87th minute to spark a two-goal comeback in the final four minutes of action.

*Winograd played all 90 minutes in both matches at center back last week.

*Widrick recorded back-to-back clean sheets against UAlbany and Bucknell.
*The senior made seven saves against Bucknell to secure his fifth shutout of the season.
Widrick leads the Patriot League in both saves per game (4.88) and shutouts per game (0.625).
*Widrick has been named Goalkeeper of the Week four times this season.
 
Patriot League Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week
Cole Ramey, Colgate, Fy., F, Richardson, Tex./Plano East
*Ramey scored the game-winning goal in Colgate’s 1-0 victory over UAlbany on Tuesday.
*The first-year logged nearly 60 minutes in a 0-0 draw with Bucknell and leads the Raiders with three goals and seven points this season.

Di Blasio scored his second goal of the season in the 35th minute to lift Boston University to a 1-0 victory over Navy, scoring off a rebound for his first game-winner of the year.

Elgersma netted the game-winning goal in the 43rd minute off a free-kick delivery to lead American to a 1-0 win over Loyola Maryland, his third goal of the season.

Mancuso scored Holy Cross’ first goal in a 2-1 victory over Stonehill and now leads the team with three goals this season.

Takahashi assisted on the game-winning goal against Loyola Maryland with a cross to Elgersma, marking his second assist of the season.

Tibbetts made three saves, including two late in the match, to preserve American’s 1-0 shutout victory over Loyola Maryland.

Martell played all 180 minutes on defense as Holy Cross allowed just one goal across two games, while also adding an assist in a win over Stonehill.
