Patriot League Men’s Soccer Players of the Week Announced presented by PenFed Credit Union (9.29.25)

American claims two weekly honors while Boston University, Lehigh, and Loyola Maryland each earn one

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — American University earned two of the five Patriot League Men’s Soccer weekly honors presented by PenFed Credit Union when the League office announced its sixth set of weekly awards on Monday. Boston University, Lehigh, and Loyola Maryland each collected one weekly honor.
 
American junior midfielder Sebastian Garces was named Patriot League Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after tallying three points with a goal and an assist to lead the Eagles to a 3-1 victory over Army West Point, extending American’s winning streak to four matches.
 
Boston University sophomore midfielder Pharis Petrica earned Patriot League Men’s Soccer Midfielder of the Week honors after registering three points with a goal and an assist to help the Terriers erase two one-goal deficits in a 3-2 road victory over No. 24 Bucknell.
 
American graduate defender Taku Takahashi received Patriot League Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week recognition after playing all 90 minutes and recording his third assist of the season in the Eagles’ win over Army West Point.
 
Lehigh sophomore goalkeeper Anton Kinnunen collected Patriot League Men’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week honors by recording his first career clean sheet in a 1-0 win over Navy, helping the Mountain Hawks remain unbeaten in League play.

Loyola Maryland freshman defender Jack Endacott was named Patriot League Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week after assisting on both Greyhounds’ goals during the week, including the game-winning tally against Holy Cross, while also playing a key role in the shutout.
 
Lehigh’s Noah Levy, Loyola Maryland’s Charlie Herley, Bucknell’s Jack Lucas, Lafayette’s Eric Axtman, and Boston University’s Sheraz Saadat and Sebastian Otero all received honorable mentions.
 
The Patriot League men’s soccer players of the week are chosen in a vote by League head coaches, who are not eligible to vote for their own student-athletes.

Taku Takahashi, American, Gr., D, Miyagi, Japan/Sendai

*Takahashi recorded his third assist of the season in a 3-1 victory over Army West Point.
*The defender delivered a key setup for Reyes Parra’s strike from the top left of the box.
*The senior played all 90 minutes in every Patriot League match this year, anchoring AU’s back line.
 
Patriot League Men’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week
Anton Kinnunen, Lehigh, So., GK, Kemi, Finland/Scholar Athletes Leadership Academy

*Kinnunen recorded his first career clean sheet in Lehigh’s 1-0 victory over Navy.
*The sophomore faced seven total shots and made one save to preserve the win.
*Kinnunen helped the Mountain Hawks remain unbeaten in Patriot League play (2-0-1).
 
Patriot League Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week
Jack Endacott, Loyola Maryland, Fr., D, Plymouth, England/Ivybridge

*Endacott Assisted on both Loyola Maryland’s goals during a 1-1 week, including the game-winner against Holy Cross.
*The freshman played a key role defensively, anchoring the back line to keep the Crusaders scoreless.
*Endacott ranks third in the Patriot League in assists (3) and fourth in points (7).

Herley scored the game-winning goal on a header and led the Greyhounds with five shots, moving into a tie for second in the Patriot League with three goals this season.
 
Jack Lucas, Bucknell, Jr., D, Leawood, Kan./Shawnee Mission East
Lucas recorded a goal and an assist in Bucknell’s 3-2 loss to Boston University, bringing his League-leading total to five goals. He also tallied four shots over two matches against Boston University and Saint Francis.
 
Eric Axtman, Lafayette, Sr., GK, Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin
Axtman posted a season-high six saves, including a key double save in the 70th minute, to secure a 0-0 draw with Colgate. He also made two saves in a 2-1 win at Binghamton earlier in the week.
 
Sheraz Saadat, Boston University, Sr., GK, Ashburn, Va./Briar Woods
Saadat made his first start of the season and finished with a career-high nine saves to help the Terriers earn a 3-2 upset win over No. 24 Bucknell.
