BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Georgetown collected three of four Patriot League football weekly awards when the League office announced honors, presented by Credit Union 1, on Monday. Lafayette secured one weekly accolade.
Lafayette junior running back Kente Edwards rushed for 127 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries to receive his first Patriot League Football Offensive Player of the Week award. Edwards scored the first two touchdowns of the game, then added a 78-yard touchdown run to open the second half in the Leopards’ 42-26 win over Stonehill.
Georgetown junior linebacker GianCarlo Rufo was selected Patriot League Football Defensive Player of the Week after finishing with 14 tackles and 1.5 sacks for a loss of eight yards in the Hoyas’ 31-20 win over Wagner.
Hoyas’ senior wide receiver/return specialist Nicholas Dunneman earned Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week. He returned a punt 55 yards for a touchdown, then caught the ensuing two-point pass to give GU a 17-10 lead in the third quarter.
Georgetown freshman defensive lineman Dean Mangiocavallo collected Patriot League Football Rookie of the Week after posting five tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss (TFLs) and 1.5 sacks for a loss of 14 yards in the Hoyas’ win.
Bucknell senior safety Terian Williams II, Colgate senior wide receiver Treyvhon Saunders, Holy Cross junior defensive back Eli Thompson, Lehigh junior running back Luke Yoder, Richmond senior defensive end Camden Byrd and senior quarterback Kyle Wickersham received honorable mentions for their performances last week.
The Patriot League football players of the week are selected in a vote by League media members and each school’s football athletics communications contacts, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

*In his first collegiate start, Edwards rushed for a career-high 127 yards on 12 carries and three touchdowns in Lafayette’s 42-26 win over Stonehill.
*He scored on touchdown runs of four, two and a career-long 78 yards to help the Leopards rush for 319 yards.

*Rufo recorded 14 tackles, including seven solo stops, finishing with 1.5 TFLs and 1.5 sacks for a loss of eight yards in Georgetown’s 31-20 win over Wagner.
*The junior linebacker had six tackles and a half sack in the second half to limit the Seahawks to 10 points to help GU pull away.
Patriot League Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Nicholas Dunneman, Georgetown, Sr., WR/RS, Montclair, N.J./Seton Hall Prep
*Dunneman returned a punt for a 55-yard touchdown early in the third quarter, then caught a two-point conversion pass to put the Hoyas in front 17-10.
*The senior wide receiver/return specialist had two punt returns for 65 yards and leads the Patriot League with 32.5 yards per return.
Patriot League Football Rookie of the Week
Dean Mangiocavallo, Georgetown, Fr., DL, Randolph, N.J./Randolph
*Mangiocavallo posted five tackles, 3.0 TFLs and 1.5 sacks for a loss of 14 yards in Georgetown’s 31-20 victory over Wagner.
*The freshman defensive lineman recorded a sack for a loss of nine yards on a fourth down late in the fourth quarter to help GU seal the victory.
Honorable Mentions
Terian Williams II, Bucknell, Sr., S, Atlanta, Ga./Johns Creek
*Williams II recorded 13 tackles, 1.0 sack for a loss of seven yards and two pass breakups in Bucknell’s 34-23 win over Marist. The senior safety broke up a pass in the end zone to limit Marist to a field goal, then had a sack on a fourth down to force a turnover on downs in the fourth quarter.
Treyvhon Saunders, Colgate, Sr., WR, Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Hartley
*Saunders finished with 10 receptions for 137 yards and a touchdown in Colgate’s 24-17 loss against No. 12/13 Villanova. He posted his second straight game with more than 100 receiving yards and double-digit receptions.
Eli Thompson, Holy Cross, Jr., CB, Rome, Ga./Darlington
*Thompson returned an interception 24 yards for a touchdown on New Hampshire’s opening drive to put Holy Cross in front 6-0. He finished with three tackles and 1.0 TFL.
Luke Yoder, Lehigh, Jr., RB, Palm Harbor, Fla./East Lake
*Yoder rushed for 127 yards, including a 28-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, on 12 carries to lead Lehigh to a 28-10 victory over Sacred Heart. The junior running back also had two catches for 11 yards.
Camden Byrd, Richmond, Sr., DE, Ashland, Va./Patrick Henry
*Byrd posted three tackles, 2.0 TFLs and two sacks for a loss of 20 yards to help Richmond down Wofford, 14-10. His third-down sack late in the third quarter set up a Spiders’ possession that resulted in the game-winning touchdown.
Kyle Wickersham, Richmond, Sr., QB, Metairie, La./Archbishop Rummel
*Wickersham completed 20-of-29 passes for 153 yards and a touchdown in addition to rushing for 78 yards, including a 10-yard game-winning touchdown run, on 17 carries in the Spiders’ 14-10 win over Wofford. His 14-yard run on a third down and nine with 1:13 remaining in the game sealed Richmond’s win.
