BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Boston University captured three of the five Patriot League Men’s Soccer weekly honors presented by PenFed Credit Union when the League office announced its third set of weekly awards on Monday. Bucknell and Colgate each earned one award apiece.
Bucknell junior forward Jack Lucas collected Patriot League Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors after scoring two goals, including an equalizer against No. 22 George Mason.
Boston University junior midfielder Lapo Romieri earned Patriot League Men’s Soccer Midfielder of the Week honors after recording a goal and an assist in the Terriers’ 3-1 win over Brown.
Terriers’ senior defender Aidan Kieffer was named Patriot League Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after anchoring Boston University’s back line and playing all 90 minutes in the victory over Brown.
Colgate senior goalkeeper Eric Widrick nabbed Patriot League Men’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week honors after posting a shutout with four saves in a 1-0 win over Binghamton.
Boston University freshman defender Austin Mobray earned Patriot League Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week after scoring his first career goal, which proved to be the game-winner against Brown.
Boston University’s Andrea Di Blasio, Lafayette’s Samir Dishnica and Nicolas Papadopoulos, Colgate’s Conor Geraghty, and Navy’s Duncan Sullivan earned honorable mentions.
The Patriot League men’s soccer players of the week are chosen in a vote by League head coaches, who are not eligible to vote for their own student-athletes.

Patriot League Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Jack Lucas, Bucknell, Jr., F, Leawood, Kan./Shawnee Mission East
*Lucas netted two goals during the week, giving him a League-leading four goals on the season.
*The junior scored the equalizer against No. 22 George Mason to cap Bucknell’s two-goal rally before the Bison ultimately fell, 3-2.
*Lucas added his second tally of the week, and third of the season, in a 4-2 victory over Old Dominion, scoring off a rebound after his penalty kick was saved.
*Lucas leads the Patriot League in goals (4), game-winning goals (2), and points (9).
Patriot League Men’s Soccer Midfielder of the Week
Lapo Romieri, Boston University, Jr., M, Milan, Italy/Hoosac School
*Romieri had a goal and an assist to lead Boston University to a 3-1 victory over Brown, avenging a 5-1 loss to the Bears last season.
*The junior scored the Terriers’ opening goal in the 46th minute, firing a low shot to the far post to give the Terriers a 1-0 lead.
*Romieri assisted on the eventual game-winner three minutes later, weaving through defenders before setting up freshman Austin Mobray.
Patriot League Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Aidan Kieffer, Boston University, Sr., D, Portland, Maine/South Kent School
*Kieffer anchored the Terrier defense in their 3-1 win over Brown, playing all 90 minutes.
*The senior helped Boston University limit the Bears to just 10 shots while clearing five corner kicks.
Patriot League Men’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week
Eric Widrick, Colgate, Sr., GK, Arlington, Mass./Arlington
*Widrick posted four saves to earn a shutout in Colgate’s 1-0 victory over Binghamton, and added another four-save performance in the Raiders’ match against UConn.
*Widrick has now earned three consecutive Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week honors, becoming the first goalkeeper to accomplish the feat since American’s Billy Knutsen in 2012.
*The senior currently leads the League in shutouts (3), saves (30), and saves per game (6.0).
Patriot League Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week
Austin Mobray, Boston University, Fr., D, Washingtonville, N.Y./Washingtonville
*Mobray scored his first career goal and game-winner in Boston University’s 3-1 victory over Brown.
*The freshman found the back of the net with a composed strike in the 49th minute to give the Terriers a 2-1 lead.
