Patriot League Announces Swimmers and Divers of the Week (1.13.26)

Army West Point, Boston University, Colgate and Navy collect weekly honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Army West Point and Boston University each received two Patriot League men’s and women’s swimming and diving weekly awards when the League office announced the honors on Tuesday. Colgate and Navy split the remaining honors.
 
For the fourth time this year and 11th time in his career, Army West Point sophomore Johnny Crush was honored as the Patriot League Men’s Swimmer of the Week. Crush posted the nation’s top performance of the week on SwimCloud for Jan. 8-14, earning a 911 score in the 50-yard backstroke.
 
Terriers’ freshman Molly Barber earned Patriot League Women’s Swimmer of the Week, presented by Credit Union 1, after setting pool records in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyles.
 
Boston University junior Zein Mahana was named the Patriot League Men’s Diver of the Week for the third time this season after sweeping the diving events against Colgate and Fairfield.
 
Army West Point junior Marianne Orr was honored as the Patriot League Women’s Diver of the Week, presented by Credit Union 1, after winning both diving events in the Black Knights’ victory over Bucknell.
 
For the third time this season, Navy freshman Chase Maier was selected as the Patriot League Men’s Rookie of the Week after helping the Midshipmen to victories over Delaware and Kenyon.
 
Colgate first-year Paige Fisher earned Patriot League Women’s Rookie of the Week honors, presented by Credit Union 1, after recording three podium finishes in the Raiders’ meet against Boston University and Fairfield.
 
Honorable mentions went to Army West Point sophomore Jack McDaniel and sophomore Angie McKane Boston University freshman Jinu Hong and freshman Alayna Kennedy, Lehigh junior Kate Whitaker and Navy junior Juan Mora.
 
The Patriot League men’s and women’s swimmers and divers of the week were selected in a vote by League head coaches, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.
 
Patriot League Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Johnny Crush, Army West Point, So., Louisville, Ky./Saint Xavier
*Crush posted the nation’s top performance of the week on SwimCloud for Jan. 8-14, earning a 911 score following Army West Point’s 191–109 victory over Bucknell on Saturday.
*The sophomore won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 19.59 and swam on the Black Knights’ winning 200-yard medley relay (1:24.96) and 200-yard freestyle relay (1:20.55).
 
Patriot League Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Molly Barber, Boston University, Fr., Ottawa, Canada/Napean
*Barber set pool records in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle and anchored a pool record in the 400-yard medley relay to push the Terriers to dual wins over Colgate and Fairfield on Saturday.
*The freshman swam a 23.21 in the 50-yard freestyle and a time of 50.29 in the 100-yard freestyle, before helping BU clock a pool-record in the 400-yard medley relay (3:43.81).
 
Patriot League Men’s Diver of the Week
Zein Mahana, Boston University, Jr., Princeton, N.J./Princeton
*Mahana swept the diving events on Saturday to help Boston University earn wins over Colgate and Fairfield.
*The junior earned a NCAA Zone cut in the three-meter board with a season-best score of 345.20 before adding a win in the one meter (286.65).
 
Patriot League Women’s Diver of the Week
Marianne Orr, Army West Point, Jr., Palo Alto, Calif./Henry M. Gunn
*Orr played a key role in Army West Points 157-143 victory over Bucknell on Saturday. The junior recorded a pair of first-place finishes in the diving events, scoring 244.58 on the one-meter and 247.05 points on the three-meter board.
*The finishes mark her sixth and seventh top three finishes this season as well as her first pair of wins in the 2025-26 season.
 
Patriot League Men’s Rookie of the Week
Chase Maier, Navy, Fr., Aurora, Ill./Oswego East
*Maier placed fourth in the 100-yard freestyle (9:12.95) and second in the 500-yard freestyle (4:22.10) in Navy’s wins over Kenyon (290-63) and Delaware (266-87).
 
Patriot League Women’s Rookie of the Week
Paige Fisher, Colgate, Fy., West Chester, Pa./B Reed Henderson
*Fisher recorded three podium finishes for Colgate in the Raiders’ meet against Boston University and Fairfield. The first-year won the 200-yard breaststroke with a pool record time of 2:18.63. She went on to win the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.93) and record a runner-up finish in the 100-yard freestyle (52.29).

Jack McDaniel, Army West Point, So., Hudson, Ohio/Hudson
*McDaniel helped Army West Point earn a 191-109 victory over Bucknell on Saturday. The sophomore captured first place on the one-meter board with a score of 307.50 and added a runner-up finish on the three-meter board (299.03).
 
Angie McKane, Army West Point, So., Corning, N.Y./Corning Painted-Post
*McKane earned four first-place finishes in Army West Point’s 157-143 win over Bucknell on Saturday. The sophomore clocked a 23.37 in the 50-yard freestyle and a 52.58 in the 100-yard butterfly to earn 18 individual points.
*In the relays, McKane helped the Black Knights’ to victories in the 200-yard medley relay (1:42.14) and 200-yard freestyle relay (1:32.07).
 
Jinu Hong, Boston University, Fr., Palo Alto, Calif./Henry M. Gunn
*Hong swept the freestyle sprints on Saturday against Colgate and Fairfield, winning the 50-yard (20.86) and the 100-yard (45.83) to help the Terriers claim a pair of dual victories.
*The freshman’s 50-yard time was a season best and swam the leadoff on the 200-yard freestyle realay that set a pool record (1:22.20).
 
Alayna Kennedy, Boston University, Fr., Austin, Minn./Austin
*Kennedy won the one-meter with a score of 264.50 to help the Terriers claim dual wins over Colgate and Fairfield on Saturday. The freshman added a runner-up finish in the three-meter (239.35).
 
Kate Whitaker, Lehigh, Jr., Westport, Conn./Staples
*Whitaker dominated the diving events in Lehigh's dual meet victory over Marist, winning both heights. On one meter, she scored 226.13 points, and on three meters, she totaled 255.90 points.
 
Juan Mora, Navy, Jr., Folsom, Calif./Mother of Divine Grace
*Mora recorded three first-place finishes in Navy’s 175.5-119.5 victory over Towson. The junior swam on Navy’s winning 200-yard medley relay and captured individual wins in the 100-yard breaststroke (55.32) and 100-yard individual medley (50.46).
*In the Midshipmen’s victories over Kenyon (290-63) and Delaware (266-87), Mora won the 100-yard breaststroke (52.77) and the 200-yard breast stroke (1:55.03). He also swam on the winning 400-yard medley relay (3:08.41) and 200-yard medley relay (1:25.49).
