WEST POINT, N.Y. – Sophomore forward Julen Iturbe scored a career-high 26 points to power American to a 78-67 victory over Army West Point at Christl Arena.
*Iturbe connected on 10-of-14 from the field, including 3-of-4 from 3-point range, to go along with five rebounds, three assists and two blocks to lead the Eagles.
*Junior guard Greg Jones finished with 16 points, six rebounds and three assists, and freshman guard Madden Collins added 14 points and eight boards to secure American’s second straight League win.
*The Eagles held a 32-29 advantage on the glass over the League’s top rebounding team, while totaling 17 second-chance points.
*Army West Point sophomore forward Jacen Holloway led the Black Knights 21 points, one point shy of his career high, on 8-of-12 shooting. He added four rebounds, three assists and three steals.
*Sophomore guard Kevin McCarthy chipped in 12 points, and junior guard Ryan Curry dished out a game-high six assists.
