Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Notebook (2.13.26)

All 10 of the League’s programs are in play during the second weekend of the season, including the first League matchup

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – This weekend, Patriot League women’s lacrosse teams are set for a busy schedule, with all 10 squads taking the field. Fans can catch eight games on ESPN+ and one more on BTN+.  
 
Bucknell opens the weekend’s action when it hosts UMBC on Friday at 3 p.m.
 
The first Patriot League matchup of the season is featured among Saturday’s slate of games when Lehigh hosts No. 19/20 Loyola Maryland at noon on ESPN+.
 
Lafayette welcomes Merrimack, and No. 10/10 Navy hosts Villanova with live coverage of both games scheduled for 11 a.m. on ESPN+. Colgate travels to Niagara for a 1 p.m. meeting before American hosts Temple (2 p.m.) and Holy Cross welcomes Stonehill (3 p.m.), all on ESPN+. Boston University concludes Saturday’s games with a 4 p.m. matchup at Fairfield on ESPN+.
 
No. 20/17 Army West Point visits Northwestern for a 2 p.m. matchup against the No. 2/2 Wildcats on BTN+.

Four Patriot League Student-Athletes Named to Tewaaraton 2026 Watch List
Four Patriot League women’s lacrosse student-athletes were named to the 2026 Tewaaraton Award Watch List when it was announced. Army West Point’s Brigid Duffy (Sr. M) and Allison Reilly (Sr. A) and Navy’s Alyssa Chung (So. A) and Mikayla Williams (Jr. M)

Yovino Named IWLCA National Offensive Player of the Week
Navy’s Ava Yovino (Sr. M) was named the Division I National Offensive Player of the Week by the International Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) when it was announced on Feb. 10. Yovino posted six points on two goals and four assists to go with seven draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers in the Mids’ upset victory over then-No. 10 Virginia.

Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse In the Polls
Inside Lacrosse KANE Women’s DI Media Poll
Reigning Patriot League Champion Navy climbed to No. 10 after defeating then-No. 10 Virginia when the Inside Lacrosse KANE Women’s DI Media Poll was released this week. Army West Point climbed two spots to No. 17. Loyola Maryland, the 2025 Patriot League regular-season champion, is ranked No. 20.  
 
Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Coaches Poll
The Mids moved up to No. 10 in the IWLCA Top 25 Coaches Poll. Loyola Maryland checked in at No. 19, with Army West Point placing 20th.  
 
Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Active Leaders
Several active Patriot League women’s lacrosse student-athletes rank among the Patriot League’s career leaders entering the 2026 season.

Army’s Duffy is 15th in League history and second among all active NCAA Division I players with 275 points, while Reilly is 21st in the League and third among active players after a 12-point performance in a 23-7 win against Marist.

Army West Point Collects Three Patriot League Preseason Major Awards; Navy Claims One
Army West Point placed four student-athletes on the 18-member Preseason All-Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Team, including three of the four major awards. Senior Allison Reilly was named Patriot League Preseason Attacker of the Year, senior Brigid Duffy earned Patriot League Preseason Midfielder of the Year and senior Lindsey Serafine claimed Patriot League Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year. Navy placed a League-high five student-athletes on the squad, including junior Jaclyn Johns, who was voted the Patriot League Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.
 
Duffy Recognized as USA Lacrosse Magazine Division I Women’s Lacrosse Midfielder of the Year
Army West Point’s Duffy was selected as the Preseason Midfielder of the Year after breaking the Black Knights’ single-season records for goals (64), ground balls (47) and caused turnovers (32). The three-time All-American is among the Patriot League’s career leaders in points (262), goals (182) and draw controls (283).

Army’s Duffy and Reilly, Navy’s Chung Earn Nike Lacrosse Media All-America Honors
Three Patriot League women’s lacrosse student-athletes were selected to one of the three Nike Lacrosse Media All-America Teams when it was announced by Inside Lacrosse. Three-time All-America honoree Brigid Duffy (Army, Sr., M) earned a spot on the Media All-America Second Team, along with reigning Patriot League Rookie of the Year Alyssa Chung (Navy, So., A). Allison Reilly (Army, Sr. A) earned third-team honors.
 
Four Receive USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason All-America Honors
Army West Point’s Brigid Duffy earned Preseason All-America First Team honors from USA Lacrosse Magazine when it was announced. Army West Point’s Allison Reilly and Navy’s Mikayla Williams (Jr., M). Navy’s Alyssa Chung earned Honorable Mention All-America recognition.
 
Reigning Patriot League Champion Picked First in 2026 Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Preseason Poll
Head coach Cindy Timchal and the Mids received 80 points and eight first-place votes to rank atop the preseason poll after winning the program’s seventh League crown last season. Loyola Maryland, the 2025 regular-season champions, received 71 points and one first-place vote. They enter the 2026 season on a 93-game regular-season League-winning streak.
 
Army West Point placed third in the preseason poll with 68 points and one first-place vote. Holy Cross (51), Colgate (48) and Boston University (41) ranked fourth through sixth, with Lehigh (35), Bucknell (23), American (15) and Lafayette (13) rounding out the 10-team preseason poll.  
 
Army’s Duffy Named to US Lacrosse Women’s National Field Team

Army West Point Women's Lacrosse senior Brigid Duffy has been named to the U.S. Women's National Team as announced by USA Lacrosse on Thursday, Jan. 15. Duffy is the first Black Knight to make the National Field Team.
 
The Queensbury, N.Y., native will represent the United States of America this upcoming summer at the 2026 U.S. Women's World Lacrosse Championships, which are set to be held from July 24-August 2 in Tokyo, Japan. Duffy will be one of nine current collegiate players on the roster and the only player from the Patriot League. This will mark her second national tournament after she has already represented Team USA on the national stage in 2024 on the U.S. U20 team alongside fellow senior Allison Reilly and was coached by Noto Family Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Michelle Tumolo.

Three Patriot League women’s lacrosse student-athletes were selected among the Inside Lacrosse Top 50 Women’s NCAA Lacrosse Players for 2026, including Army West Point’s Brigid Duffy and Allison Reilly and Navy’s Alyssa Chung.

Steph Lazo Selected to Lead Lehigh Women’s Lacrosse Program

Lehigh University Athletics has tabbed Steph Lazo to lead the Mountain Hawks' women's lacrosse program. The ninth head coach in Lehigh women's lacrosse history, Lazo was a standout attacker at Penn State and spent the 2025 season at her alma mater, where she served as an assistant coach and the Nittany Lions' offensive coordinator.


Patriot Women’s Lacrosse on CBS Sports Network
Four Patriot League women’s lacrosse games will be featured on CBS Sports Network in 2026. Navy opens the nationally televised slate of games when it hosts Florida on Saturday, Feb. 28, with live coverage beginning at 9:30 a.m. The regular-season rematch of the 2025 Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Championship Game featuring Navy at Loyola Maryland is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, with live coverage beginning at 11 a.m. The Mids will host rival Army West Point on Saturday, April 11, at Noon. The 2026 Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Championship Game will be aired on Saturday, May 2, with live coverage beginning at 3:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
