– Loyola Maryland used strong second and third quarters to pull away for a 58-49 victory over Colgate at Reitz Arena on Sunday afternoon.
*The Greyhounds led 15-14 after the first quarter before outscoring Colgate 14-6 in the second quarter to take a 29-20 advantage into halftime.
*Loyola Maryland continued to build its cushion in the third quarter, shooting 58.3 percent from the field and extending the margin to 47-35 entering the fourth quarter.
*Colgate trimmed the deficit to 10 points midway through the fourth quarter, but the Greyhounds answered to maintain control down the stretch.
*Loyola Maryland shot 47.1 percent from the field and held Colgate to 32.7 percent shooting, including 24 percent from three-point range.
*Graduate forward Lex Therien led the Greyhounds with 14 points and six rebounds, while Sydney Bass added 11 points off the bench.
*Junior guard Ella Meabon paced Colgate with 16 points and six rebounds, and junior guard Amarah Streiff added 12 points on four 3-pointers.
