BETHLEHEM – Navy collected five of this year’s 2026 Patriot League Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Championship awards, when the League office announced the honors on Monday morning. Boston University garnered three awards and Army West Point received a pair of honors.
Navy junior Finn Gelbach was honored as the Patriot League Championship Men’s Diver of the Meet for the second time in his career after winning both diving events over the weekend. He totaled 364.95 points in the three-meter and 386.10 points on the one-meter board.
Teammate and freshman Chase Maier collected Patriot League Championship Men’s Rookie of the Meet honors after winning the 1,650-yard freestyle with an NCAA qualifying time and scoring 83 individual points.
Navy freshman Corrine Warriner was selected as the Patriot League Championship Women’s Rookie of the Meet after recording a pair of podium finishes and 70 individual points for the Mids.
Black Knights’ sophomore Angie McKane garnered the Patriot League Champion Women’s Swimmer of the Meet award after recording seven gold medals and becoming the first Army West Point women’s swimmer to qualify for the national meet.
For the second straight year, Army West Point’s Johnny Crush earned Patriot League Championship Men’s Swimmer of the Meet honors. The sophomore was the Men’s Highest Point Scorer with 92 points after earning seven top-three finishes.
Boston University’s Alayna Kennedy became the first Terrier freshman to sweep the diving events and was named the Patriot League Championship Women’s Diver of the Meet.
After the Midshipmen collected their 21st Patriot League title in program history, Navy earned the Men’s Swim Coaching Staff of the Year honors under the direction of 23rd-year head coach Bill Roberts.
Navy’s Tim Fisher and his staff received Joe Suriano Men’s Diving Coaching Staff of the Year recognition for the third straight year after Finn Gelbach won both the one-meter and three-meter diving events.
Following the Terriers’ fourth-place finish in the women’s standings with 914 points, Boston University collected the Women’s Swim Coaching Staff of the Year honors under the guidance of third-year head coach James Sica.
Boston University’s Brad Snodgrass was honored with the Women’s Diving Coaching Staff of the Year for the third time in his career following Kennedy’s first-place finishes.
The major awards were selected the by the Patriot League men’s and women’s swimming and diving head coaches, who could not vote for their student-athletes or themselves.
Women’s Swimmer of the Meet
Angie McKane, Army West Point, So., Corning, N.Y./Corning Painted-Post
*McKane collected seven gold medals and was the Women’s Highest Point Scorer (96), alongside teammate Molly Webber, to earn Women’s Swimmer of the Meet honors.
*The sophomore won individual titles in the 100-yard butterfly, 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard freestyle.
*She helped the Black Knights sweep the relay events, which included the 200-yard medley relay, 400-yard medley relay, 200-yard freestyle relay and 400-yard freestyle relay.
*The Corning, N.Y. native set several Patriot League records and became the first West Point women’s swimmer to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
Men’s Swimmer of the Meet
Johnny Crush, Army West Point, So., Louisville, Ky./Saint Xavier
*Crush earned back-to-back Men’s Swimmer of the Meet honors and was the Men’s Highest Point Scorer (92) following seven podium finishes.
*The sophomore captured titles in the 100-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle and 400-yard medley relay as well as runner-up finishes in the 50-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle relay and 400-yard freestyle relay. He added a bronze medal in the 200-yard medley relay.
*He notched NCAA qualifying times in the 100-yard freestyle (42.44) and 100-yard backstroke (44.80).
*The Louisville, Ky. native is the second Black Knight to earn a pair of Men’s Swimmer of the Meet awards (Joe Novak, 1997-99).
Women’s Diver of the Meet
Alayna Kennedy, Boston University, Fr., Austin, Minn./Austin
*Kennedy completed the weekend sweep of the diving events to earn Women’s Diver of the Meet recognition.
*The freshman posted season-best scores on the one-meter (300.55) and three-meter (321.50) boards to earn Boston University’s only two gold medals of the meet.
*The Austin, Minn. native is the first Terrier freshman to sweep the diving events.
Men’s Diver of the Meet
Finn Gelbach, Navy, Jr., Springfield, Va./The Heights School
*Gelbach captured gold medals in both diving events to earn his second career Men’s Diver of the Meet honor (2024).
*The junior totaled 364.95 points to win the three-meter and scored 386.10 points to place first on the one-meter board by 47.35 points.
*The Springfield, Va. native was previously honored as the Championship Rookie of the Meet in 2024.
Women’s Rookie of the Meet
Corinne Weaver, Navy, Fr., Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton
*Weaver recorded a pair of podium finishes and 70 individual points to be named the Women’s Rookie of the Meet.
*The freshman finished third place in both the 100-yard (1:00.66) and 200-yard breaststrokes (2:11.90), while adding an 11th place finish in the 200-yard individual medley (2:03.38).
*The Chandler, Ariz. collects Navy’s 10th Women’s Rookie of the Meet honor in program history.
Men’s Rookie of the Meet
Chase Maier, Navy, Fr., Aurora, Ill./Oswego East
*Maier won the 1,650-yard freestyle with an NCAA qualifying time of 14:56.68 to earn Men’s Rookie of the Meet.
*He scored 83 individual points, which tied him for eighth place.
*The freshman added a third-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (4:19.44) and placed sixth in the 200-yard freestyle (1:36.90).
*The Aurora, Ill. native collects Navy’s 11th Men’s Rookie of the Meet honor in program history.
Women’s Swim Coaching Staff of the Year
Boston University – Head Coach: James Sica; Assistant Coaches: Stephen Andersen, Brad Snodgrass, Hunter Sullivan, Madison Kim, Michael Iacobelli, Emma Petrovich
*Under the direction of third-year head coach James Sica, Boston University finished fourth in the women’s standings with 914 points.
*It marks the first Coaching Staff of the Year honor for Terriers since joining the League in 2014.
Men’s Swim Coaching Staff of the Year

*Bill Roberts led the Midshipman to their 21st straight Patriot League championship to collect his seventh Men’s Swim Coaching Staff of the Year honor.
Women’s Diving Coaching Staff of the Year
Boston University – Diving Coach: Brad Snodgrass, Assistant Coach: Emma Petrovich
*Brad Snodgrass earned his third career Women’s Diving Coaching Staff of the Year award after the Terriers earned both gold medals on the boards.
*Alayna Kennedy became the first BU freshman to sweep the diving events at the Patriot League Championships.
