Patriot League Softball Players of the Week Announced (2.23.26)

Bucknell, Army West Point and Boston University each earned a Patriot League softball weekly award

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Bucknell, Army West Point and Boston University each claimed a Patriot League softball weekly award when the League office announced the honors on Monday.
 
Bucknell junior outfielder Sarah Zimmerman was named Patriot League Player of the Week after batting .667 with a .700 on-base percentage and 1.444 slugging percentage at the UNCG Invitational.
 
Army West Point senior pitcher Breanna Izzo earned Patriot League Pitcher of the Week honors after going 2–1 with a 1.62 ERA over 13.0 innings, tossing a no-hitter with seven strikeouts in a run-rule victory over Tarleton State.
 
Boston University freshman outfielder Irys Kline was selected as Patriot League Rookie of the Week after batting .375 with a home run, six RBIs and a .545 on-base percentage.
 
Army West Point sophomore outfielder Breanna Coonfare, Boston University senior infielder Brooke Deppiesse, Colgate first-year pitcher Kelcie McGraw and Holy Cross freshman Bella Nugent earned honorable mention recognition.

The Patriot League softball players of the week are selected in a vote by each school’s head softball coach, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

Patriot League Softball Player of the Week
Sarah Zimmerman, Bucknell, Jr., OF, Lanoka Harbor, N.J./Lacey Township

*Zimmerman batted .667 with a .700 on-base percentage and 1.444 slugging percentage at the UNCG Invitational, recording two doubles, a triple and her first career home run.
*Her three-run homer gave Bucknell a 10–8 lead over Canisius, and she drove in six RBIs across Saturday’s two games.

Patriot League Softball Pitcher­­ of the Week
Breanna Izzo, Army West Point, Sr., P, Irvine, Calif./Woodbridge
*Izzo went 2–1 with a 1.62 ERA over 13.0 innings, allowing just three earned runs while striking out 14.
*The senior tossed a no-hitter with seven strikeouts in a five-inning, 10–0 run-rule victory over Tarleton State.

Patriot League Softball Rookie­­ of the Week
Irys Kline, Boston University, Fr., OF, Camp Hill, Pa./East Pennsboro Area

*Kline batted .375 with a home run, six RBIs and a .545 on-base percentage, highlighted by a walk-off grand slam against Jacksonville.
*The freshman tied a program record with four walks in a game against Charlotte and helped BU rally from a 9–0 deficit in a 20–12 victory with two hits and two RBIs.

Honorable Mentions 
Breanna Coonfare, Army West Point, So., OF, Kansas City, Mo./Liberty North

Coonfare batted .462 (6-for-13) with two doubles, a triple and three RBIs over five games, helping Army West Point to a 3–2 weekend. She went a combined 5-for-5 across two games on the opening day of the Texan Classic.
 
Brooke Deppiesse, Boston University, Sr., INF, Redwood City, Calif./St. Francis
Deppiesse hit .500 with a .591 on-base percentage, recording at least one hit in all five games and multiple hits in three contests. She delivered a bases-clearing walk-off triple in BU’s 20–12 comeback win over Marshall and helped spark a rally from a 9–0 deficit.
 
Kelcie McGraw, Colgate, Fy., P, Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township
McGraw posted a 3.43 ERA with 24 strikeouts across 32.0 innings, earning a complete-game victory over Boston College with six strikeouts. The win marked Colgate’s first over an ACC opponent since 2019.
 
Bella Nugent, Holy Cross, Fr., F, Berkley, Mass./Somerset Berkley
Nugent belted three home runs, including two against Wofford, while tallying five hits and three RBIs during Holy Cross’ opening weekend.
