Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Players of the Week Announced (2.9.26)

Navy claimed two weekly honors, Army West Point, Boston University and Bucknell each received one

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Navy collected two of the five Patriot League women’s lacrosse weekly awards when the League announced the first set of honors for the 2026 season Monday. Army West Point, Boston University and Bucknell each claimed one accolade.
 
Navy junior Ava Yovino captured Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Midfielder of the Week, posting six points on two goals and four assists, with seven draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers in a 12-10 upset victory over No. 10/8 Virginia. Sophomore Lily Schmalz earned Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, picking up three ground balls and causing two turnovers in the upset win over the Cavaliers.
 
Army West Point senior Lily Valentini collected Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Attacker of the Week after posting a career-high seven points with five goals and two assists in the Black Knights’ 19-14 win over Big Ten opponent Rutgers.
 
Boston University junior Natalie Aiosa earned Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Goalkeeper of the Week after posting a .650 save percentage with 13 saves in Boston University’s 16-7 win over New Hampshire.
 
Bucknell freshman attacker Caleigh Cummiskey received Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week honors after recording seven points with six goals in a 20-6 victory over Youngstown State.
 
Army West Point senior midfielder Brigid Duffy, Boston University junior midfielder Tessa Geddes, Bucknell senior attack Megan Krestinski and senior defender Jess Leon, Colgate sophomore attack Aubrey McMahon, Holy Cross senior defender Racheli Levy-Smith, Lehigh first-year goalkeeper Micaela Jennings and junior attack Shannon Nolan and Navy junior goalkeeper Felicia Giglio received honorable mentions for their performances last week.

Lily Valentini, Army West Point, Sr., Attack, Jupiter, Fla./The Benjamin School
*Valentini totaled a career-high seven points on five goals and two assists in the Black Knights’ 19-14 victory over Big Ten opponent Rutgers on Friday.
*The senior attacker scored three of her career-high five goals in the first half to help the Black Knights open a 7-5 halftime lead, then scored two goals in the fourth quarter to help seal the win.
*She also added two ground balls, one caused turnover and one draw control.
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE MIDFIELDER OF THE WEEK
Ava Yovino, Navy, Sr., Midfielder, Parkland, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas
*Yovino led the Mids with six points on two goals and a team-high four assists in a 12-10 upset victory at No. 10/8 Virginia on Friday.
*The senior midfielder led Navy with seven draw controls and matched team-highs with three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
*She had two goals and two assists during a first-half 7-0 run to help the Mids build a four-goal lead.
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lily Schmalz, Navy, So., Defender, Needham, Mass./Needham
*Schmalz picked up three ground balls and caused two turnovers in her first collegiate start to help Navy upset No. 10/8 Virginia, 12-10.
*The sophomore defender was part of a Mids’ defense that held the Cavaliers scoreless for nearly 30 minutes during a 7-0 run between the first and third quarters.
*She caused a turnover and picked up a ground ball that led to Emma Kennedy’s game-winning goal.
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Natalie Aiosa, Boston University, Jr., Goalkeeper, Catonsville, Md./Mount De Sales Academy
*Aiosa recorded a .650 save percentage, making 13 saves on 20 shots in Boston University’s 16-7 win over New Hampshire.
*She made four saves in the fourth quarter to allow the Terriers to outscore the Wildcats 6-2 in the final frame to seal the win.
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S LACROSSE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Caleigh Cummiskey, Bucknell, Fr., Attack, Portsmouth, R.I./St. Marks
*In her first collegiate start, Cummiskey led Bucknell with seven points on six goals and one assist in a 20-6 victory over Youngstown State.  
*Her six goals marked the most by a Bucknell freshman in her debut, and was the most by a Patriot League student-athlete during the opening weekend.

Brigid Duffy, Army West Point, Sr., Midfielder, Queensbury, N.Y./Queensbury
*Duffy recorded six points on five goals and one assist to lead Army West Point to a 19-14 victory over Big Ten-opponent Rutgers on Friday. The Patriot League Preseason Midfielder of the Year also won five draw controls.
 
Tessa Geddes, Boston University, Jr., Midfielder, Winchester, Mass./Winchester
*Geddes matched a career-high with four goals to lead Boston University to a 16-7 victory over New Hampshire on Friday. She added six draw controls, one caused turnover and one ground ball.
 
Megan Krestinski, Bucknell, Sr., Attack, Bronxville, N.Y./Bronxville
*Krestinski posted a Patriot League-high eight points on three goals and five assists to lead Bucknell to a 20-6 victory at Youngstown State on Friday. The five assists are the fourth-highest single-game total in Bison history.
 
Jess Leon, Bucknell, Sr., Defender, Staples, Conn./Westport, Conn.
*Leon finished with four caused turnovers and one ground ball in Bucknell’s 20-6 win over Youngstown State. She helped the Bison defense limit the Penguins to 20 total shots (14 on goal).
 
Aubrey McMahon, Colgate, So., Attack, Norwell, Mass./Notre Dame Academy
*McMahon posted seven points on five goals and two assists to lead Colgate to a 14-12 victory at St. Bonaventure on Friday. The sophomore attacker also recorded one ground ball and one caused turnover.
 
Racheli Levy-Smith, Holy Cross, Sr., Defender, Margate, N.J./Ocean City
*Levy-Smith finished with 11 draw controls, two ground balls and two caused turnovers in the Crusaders’ season-opening loss against UMass.
 
Micaela Jennings, Lehigh, Fy., Goalkeeper, Manilus, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manilus
*Jennings posted a .607 save percentage with 17 saves in her collegiate debut in Lehigh’s 11-10 loss against Saint Joseph’s. The first-year goalkeeper also had two ground balls and one caused turnover.
 
Shannon Nolan, Lehigh, Jr., Attack, South Salem, N.Y./John Jay
*Nolan scored a career-high five goals on seven shots in the Mountain Hawks’ season-opening loss against Saint Joseph’s. She scored four of her five goals in the second half, including two in the fourth quarter to tie the score at 10.
 
Felicia Giglio, Navy, Jr., Goalkeeper, Bayport, N.Y./Bayport Blue-Point
*Giglio made six saves and added two caused turnovers and two ground balls in Navy’s 12-10 upset win over No. 10/8 Virginia. She made three stops in the second quarter, helping the Mids shutout UVA for nearly 30 minutes during a 7-0 run to help Navy build a four-goal lead.
