2025-26 PenFed Credit Union Patriot League Women’s Basketball First Round Preview (3.6.26)

No. 7 Bucknell hosts No. 10 Colgate; No. 8 Boston University welcomes No. 9 American

THIS WEEK IN PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL (AND WHERE TO WATCH)
First-round action of the 2025-26 PenFed Credit Union Patriot League Women’s Basketball Championship begins Saturday with two games. No. 8 Boston University hosts No. 9 American at 2 p.m., while No. 7 Bucknell welcomes No. 10 Colgate at 4 p.m. Live coverage of both games will be available on ESPN+.

The winner of Bucknell vs. Colgate will travel to No. 2 Holy Cross for a quarterfinal matchup on Monday at 6 p.m. on ESPN+. The winner of Boston University vs. American will face top-seeded Navy at Alumni Hall at 7 p.m. on ESPN+.

Two additional quarterfinal games are set for Monday, with No. 3 Army West Point hosting No. 6 Lafayette and No. 4 Lehigh welcoming No. 5 Loyola Maryland. Both games will begin at 6 p.m. and be streamed live on ESPN+.

SEASON SERIES: Boston University and American split the season series, with both teams defending home court. The Eagles defeated the Terriers, 53-45, on Jan. 3, while the Terriers earned the split with a 79-76 back-and-forth overtime victory on Feb. 28.

GAME ONE (Jan. 3, 2026 – BOX SCORE): American used a dominant second quarter, outscoring Boston University 22-4, and held off a late rally to earn a 53-45 win. Sophomore guard Molly Driscoll led the Eagles with 15 points, while sophomore guard Madisyn Moore-Nicholson added an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double. Boston University senior forward Anete Adler paced the Terriers with 12 points and three blocks.

GAME TWO (Feb. 28, 2026 – BOX SCORE): Boston University used an explosive third quarter to rally and defeat American in overtime, 79-76. Adler led the Terriers with a 33-point, 11-rebound double-double while adding seven assists and five blocks. Senior forward Anastasiia Semenova contributed a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double, and junior guard Bella McLaughlin scored 10 points. Freshman forward Charlotte Tuhy led the Eagles with 23 points and 21 rebounds, while senior guard Anna Rescifina added 14 points and 10 rebounds.

SEASON SERIES: Bucknell swept the season series with two victories by fewer than 10 points. The Bison recorded their first League win of the season with a 46-43 victory at home on Jan. 17. Bucknell completed the season sweep in Hamilton with a 50-41 win.

GAME ONE (Jan. 17, 2026 – BOX SCORE): Sophomore guard Isabella Casey knocked down a corner 3-pointer with 18 seconds remaining to lift the Bison to a 46-43 win. Casey and junior forward Tuana Coskun led Bucknell with 15 points each. Senior forward Grace Klag led the Raiders with 12 points and 19 rebounds while adding four assists.

GAME TWO (Feb. 7, 2026 – BOX SCORE): Bucknell used a 17-10 fourth quarter to pull away from the Raiders and earn a 50-41 victory. Sophomore guard Reese Zemitis paced the Bison with 11 points, while Coskun added nine points and six rebounds. Sophomore guard Taye Matthews led Colgate with 10 points, and Klag grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.
