Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Notebook (4.10.26)

All 10 Patriot League women’s lacrosse programs are in action on ESPN+ this weekend

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – All 10 Patriot League women’s lacrosse teams will be in action this weekend, with live coverage of four of the important League matchups on ESPN+, while No. 14 Army West Point travels to No. 8 Navy for Saturday matchup on CBS Sports Network.
 
On Friday night, Bucknell hosts Lafayette at 7 p.m., looking to extend its three-game winning streak.
 
Four more League games are scheduled for Saturday, with Boston University welcoming Lehigh to begin the day’s action at 11 a.m. on ESPN+. No. 18 Loyola Maryland hosts Colgate and Holy Cross travels to American, with both games beginning at noon on ESPN+
 
The 14th-ranked Black Knights will look to remain unbeaten in League play when they take on No. 8 Navy at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium on Saturday. Jason Knapp and Rachel DeCecco will call the action, beginning at noon, on CBS Sports Network.

Three Patriot League Teams Among the NCAA RPI Top 20
Navy is No. 8 in the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse RPI through games on April 8, with Army West Point checking in at No. 13 following wins over Yale and American. Loyola Maryland is No. 19 in the most recent RPI rankings. Three more Patriot League teams are within the top 60, including Bucknell (46), Holy Cross (53) and Boston University (57).

Inside Lacrosse KANE Women’s DI Media Poll
Reigning Patriot League Champion Navy remained No. 8 in this week’s Inside Lacrosse KANE Women’s DI Media Poll after a 16-5 win over Boston University on Saturday. Army West Point climbed four spots to No. 13 in the poll after wins over then-No. 5 Yale and American last week. The Greyhounds checked in at No. 18.  
 
Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Coaches Poll
The Mids also remained No. 8 in this week’s IWLCA Top 25 Coaches Poll. Army West Point moved up four spots to No. 14, while Loyola Maryland remained No. 16.  
 
USA Lacrosse DI Women’s Top 20 Poll
Navy moved up one spot to No. 8 in the USA Lacrosse DI Women’s Top 20. Army West Point checked in at No. 12, five spots higher than last week and Loyola Maryland is No. 17.

Patriot League Victories vs. Ranked Non-League Opponents
Army West Point’s victory over No. 5 Yale on March 31 was the sixth win by a Patriot League women’s lacrosse program over a ranked non-League opponent this season. Loyola has recorded three wins over ranked non-League opponents. Navy is 2-0 against ranked non-League teams, while Army is 1-2.

Five Patriot League Student-Athletes Make 2026 Nike Lacrosse Midseason Media All-America List

Five Patriot League women’s lacrosse student-athletes were selected as 2026 Nike Lacrosse Midseason Media All-Americans when it was announced by Inside Lacrosse this week. Army West Point’s Allison Reilly (Sr., A) and Brigid Duffy (Sr., M) both received first-team accolades. Navy’s Alyssa Chung (So., A) earned a spot on the second team, while Loyola Maryland’s Mae Murphy (Fr., D/DS) made the third team. Navy’s Ava Yovino (Sr., M) was selected as an honorable mention.
 
Loyola Maryland and Rookie Mae Murphy Among the Nation’s Draw Control Leaders
Loyola Maryland leads NCAA DI in draw control percentage (.678) and is second in draw controls per game (17.29), just in front of third-ranked Colgate (17.27) through games on April 8. The Greyhounds are led by freshman Mae Murphy, who has made an immediate impact during her first collegiate campaign. In 14 games, the reigning Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week ranks second in NCAA DI with 12.14 draw controls per game. Her 170 draws are the highest single-season total by a Patriot League rookie, topping the mark previously held by Navy’s Reagan Roelofs (146) from 2019. Murphy is 30 draw controls shy of becoming the third different player in League history to reach 200 in a single season, where she would join Alyssa Daley and Chase Boyle. Daley set the single-season record with 236 last season.
 
Five Patriot Leaguers Among NCAA DI Top 30 Points Leaders
Army West Point’s Allison Reilly is second in NCAA DI, averaging 7.17 points per game. She has three games with 10 or more points, including a Patriot League season-high 12-point performance in a win over Marist on Feb. 10. Reilly leads five Patriot League women’s lacrosse student-athletes among the NCAA DI top-30 leaders. Army’s Duffy is seventh in NCAA DI, averaging 5.75 points per game. Bucknell’s Megan Krestinski (5.00) and Colgate’s Aubrey McMahon (5.00 are tied for 13th. Krestinski and McMahon have each recorded 10-point performances this season, with Krestinski posting 10 points in a win vs. UMBC on Feb. 13. McMahon finished with 10 points, including nine goals, in a win over Lafayette on March 21. Navy’s Alyssa Chung is 23rd in the NCAA DI, averaging 4.69 points per game.

Holy Cross’ Levy-Smith in the Midst of a Career Season
Holy Cross defender Racheli Levy-Smith has already broken a League record with five consecutive Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week honors during an impressive senior season. The two-time All-League selection is 15th in NCAA DI, averaging 2.42 caused turnovers per game and sixth with 10.5 draw controls per game. Levy-Smith has posted 29 caused turnovers in 11 games this season, giving her 76 during her career to rank 25th among NCAA DI active leaders.
 
Five Patriot League players rank among NCAA DI’s top-30 in caused turnovers per game, with Army’s Duffy leading the way in 10th with 2.55. Levy-Smith ranks 15th, with American’s Izzy Massengarb (2.17), Boston University’s Siri Hodgins (2.15) placing 24th and 26th, respectively. American’s Samantha Buonaccorsi (2.09) is 30th.
 
Army’s Reilly Second NCAA DI in Assists; First Among Active Career Leaders
Earlier this season, Army West Point’s Allison Reilly set a Black Knights’ single-game program record with eight assists in a 13-7 win against Florida State. Reilly leads NCAA DI active leaders with 152 career assists, sixth in Patriot League history. She currently ranks second in NCAA DI this season, averaging 4.42 assists per game this season in 12 games. Holy Cross’ Kate Avitabile (3.00) and Lehigh’s Kacie Wines (2.54) are ninth and 16th in NCAA DI in assists per game this season.

Several active Patriot League women’s lacrosse student-athletes rank among the Patriot League’s career leaders entering the 2026 season.

Army’s Duffy moved to sixth in Patriot League women’s lacrosse history with 331 career points, ranking second among all active NCAA Division I players. Army’s Reilly became the 12th student-athlete in League history to surpass 300 points, posting seven points in a win over Bucknell on March 21. She is seventh in League history and third among active leaders with 327 career points.

Army’s Duffy Climbing Patriot League Career Goals List
Duffy climbed into fourth place in Patriot League history with 231 goals, passing Navy’s Jenna Collins, with her four-goal performance in a win over No. 5 Yale last week. She is second among active NCAA DI leaders. Her teammate Allison Reilly’s 175 career goals are 23rd in League history and eighth among active goal scorers. American’s Reagan Murdoch reached 100 career goals with a six-goal performance in a loss to George Mason on Feb. 27 and ranks 70th in League history and 43rd among active scorers with 117 goals. Colgate’s Caroline Panzirer eclipsed 100 career goals with a four-goal performance in the Raiders’ 16-10 win over Niagara on Feb. 14. She is 92nd in League history.

Holy Cross’ Levy-Smith Tops Patriot League Active Draw Controls Leaders
Holy Cross’ Racheli Levy-Smith became the sixth player in Patriot League history to reach 400 draw controls in a loss vs. Bucknell on April 4. She became the 10th player to surpass 300 earlier this season. The senior defender is sixth in League history and fifth among NCAA DI active leaders with 410. Army’s Duffy ranks 11th in League history with 324 draw controls. Lafayette’s Katie Marrs eclipsed 200 career draw controls to become the third active Patriot League player to reach the milestone. Marrs is tied for 18th in Patriot League history, with former Holy Cross star Keeley Connors, and 29th among NCAA DI active leaders.

Navy Head Coach Cindy Timchal Reaches 600 Career Wins
Navy head coach Cindy Timchal became the second NCAA women’s lacrosse coach, and the first at the Division I level, to reach 600 victories in the Mids’ 13-10 win over Jacksonville. Timchal joins Sharon Pfluger, who has surpassed 600 victories and counting in her 39th season coaching women’s lacrosse at DIII TCNJ. The two-time National Coach of the Year and eight-time NCAA Champion became the first women’s lacrosse coach at Navy, helping elevate its club team to the DI level for the 2008 season. She has won 269 games and counting in Annapolis, guiding the Mids to seven Patriot League titles and seven NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Final Four appearance in 2017 and a quarterfinals trip in 2018. Timchal and the Mids are 12-1 and ranked No. 8 in all three NCAA DI polls this week.
 
Army’s Duffy Named IWLCA National Offensive Player of the Week
Army West Point senior midfielder Brigid Duffy earned National Offensive Player of the Week honors when it was announced by the IWLCA on March 17. Duffy stuffed the stat sheet with six goals, one assist, four draw controls, four ground balls and three caused turnovers in the Black Knights’ victory over then-No. 16 Loyola Maryland, to snap the Greyhounds’ 94-game Patriot League regular-season winning streak.
 
Ava Yovino and Navy Featured by Inside Lacrosse
There are so many ways, beyond goals and assists, you can contribute to a team. Each way is necessary, though not as apparent or obvious. Navy’s Ava Yovino does them all. Her stat line in Navy’s statement-making win over Florida: 3G, 3A on 5 shots. 3CT, 7DC and 1GB. She’s also a senior captain, a leader among leaders, who bluntly summed up the focused confidence of the Midshipmen — the marquee story of early women’s lacrosse as they climbed into the Top 5 nationally.

Navy’s Yovino Named IWLCA National Offensive Player of the Week for the Second Time
Navy’s Ava Yovino (Sr. M) has been named the Division I National Offensive Player of the Week by the IWLCA twice this season. Most recently, she earned the honor after recording three goals, three assists, seven draw controls, three caused turnovers and one ground ball in the Mids’ 14-11 upset win over No.  7 Florida on Feb. 28. The senior midfielder previously earned national offensive player of the week honors after posting six points on two goals and four assists to go with seven draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers in the Mids’ upset victory over then-No. 10 Virginia.

Six Patriot League Student-Athletes on the 2026 Tewaaraton Award Watch List
Navy senior midfielder Ava Yovino and Loyola Maryland freshman draw specialist Mae Murphy have been added to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List, which was announced on March 5. Four Patriot League women’s lacrosse student-athletes were named to the initial 2026 Tewaaraton Award Watch List before the start of the season, including Army West Point’s Brigid Duffy (Sr. M) and Allison Reilly (Sr. A) and Navy’s Alyssa Chung (So. A) and Mikayla Williams (Jr. M)

Duffy Recognized as USA Lacrosse Magazine Division I Women’s Lacrosse Midfielder of the Year
Army West Point’s Duffy was selected as the Preseason Midfielder of the Year after breaking the Black Knights’ single-season records for goals (64), ground balls (47) and caused turnovers (32). The three-time All-American is among the Patriot League’s career leaders in points (262), goals (182) and draw controls (283).

Army’s Duffy Named to US Lacrosse Women’s National Field Team

Army West Point Women's Lacrosse senior Brigid Duffy has been named to the U.S. Women's National Team as announced by USA Lacrosse on Thursday, Jan. 15. Duffy is the first Black Knight to make the National Field Team.
 
The Queensbury, N.Y., native will represent the United States of America this upcoming summer at the 2026 U.S. Women's World Lacrosse Championships, which are set to be held from July 24 to August 2 in Tokyo, Japan. Duffy will be one of nine current collegiate players on the roster and the only player from the Patriot League. This will mark her second national tournament after she represented Team USA on the national stage in 2024 on the U.S. U20 team alongside fellow senior Allison Reilly and was coached by Noto Family Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Michelle Tumolo.
 
Patriot Women’s Lacrosse on CBS Sports Network
Two more Patriot League women’s lacrosse games will be featured on CBS Sports Network in 2026. Coverage continues this Saturday when Navy hosts rival Army West Point on Saturday at noon. The 2026 Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Championship Game will be aired on Saturday, May 2, with live coverage beginning at 3:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
