BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Army West Point collected all five Patriot League Men’s Soccer weekly awards when the League office announced the honors on Monday.

Army West Point senior forward Jubril Bamgbala was named Patriot League Men’s Soccer Forward of the Week after totaling three points on one goal and one assist in the Black Knights’ 4-2 victory over Columbia.

Army West Point junior midfielder Ronald Zhai earned Patriot League Men’s Soccer Midfielder of the Week honors after recording one goal and one assist in their victory over Columbia.

Army West Point senior defender Kelly Cooper received Patriot League Men’s Soccer Defender of the Week honors after playing all 180 minutes during an unbeaten week that included a scoreless draw at No. 12 Akron and a 4-2 win over Columbia. 

Army West Point sophomore goalkeeper Collin Gilbert was named Patriot League Men’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week after making 11 saves with an .846 save percentage across two matches. 

Army West Point freshman defender Gunnar Guest rounded out the weekly awards by earning Patriot League Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week honors, playing all 180 minutes in the Black Knights’ unbeaten week.
Holy Cross sophomore forward Archie Hatcher, Holy Cross senior midfielder Adric Rosato and Lehigh senior midfielder Trey Sheeler received honorable mentions.

The Patriot League men’s soccer players of the week are selected in a vote by League head coaches, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

*The senior defender helped the Black Knights hold nationally ranked Akron scoreless despite facing 24 shots.
*Cooper scored his first goal of the season in the victory over Columbia.

Patriot League Men’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week
Collin Gilbert, Army West Point, So., GK, Tampa, Fla./Sickles
*Gilbert recorded 11 saves and an .846 save percentage to help Army West Point go 1-0-1 with a 0-0 draw at No. 12 Akron and a 4-2 victory over Columbia.
*The sophomore goalkeeper stopped all six shots on goal against Akron to earn his first shutout of the season despite the Black Knights being outshot, 24-5.
*Gilbert added five saves against Columbia, allowing two goals while helping Army secure its first victory of the season.

Patriot League Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week

*Guest also played the full 90 minutes in Army West Point’s 4-2 victory over Columbia.

Sheeler anchored Lehigh’s midfield defensively in a 2-0 loss at unbeaten Old Dominion, consistently winning possessions for the Mountain Hawks in the midfield.

Rosato recorded his first point of the season with an assist against Rhode Island, setting up Archie Hatcher for the Crusaders’ lone goal of the match.
