Patriot League Women’s Soccer Players of the Week Announced (9.14.26)

Army West Point’s Henry and Pohlidal and Bucknell’s McFarland and Nemsick receive weekly awards

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Bucknell collected three of the five Patriot League women’s soccer weekly awards when the League office announced the honors on Monday. Army West Point received the two remaining accolades.

The Patriot League women’s soccer players of the week are selected in a vote by League head coaches, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

Patriot League Women’s Soccer Forward of the Week
Sophia Henry, Army West Point, So., Forward, Springfield, Va./Laske Braddock
*Henry scored the game-winning goal in the 89th minute to lift Army West Point to a 1-0 victory over Cornell on Thursday.
*The sophomore is tied for fourth in the Patriot League in assists (2) and tied for seventh in points (6).

Patriot League Women’s Soccer Midfielder of the Week
Grace Pohlidal, Army West Point, Jr., Midfielder, Edina, Minn./Edina
*Pohlidal played all 90 minutes and paced Army West Point with four shots in the Black Knights’ 1-0 win over the Big Red on Thursday.
*The junior has logged 90 minutes in seven straight matches and eight total this season.

Patriot League Women’s Soccer Defender of the Week
Clare Nemsick, Bucknell, Fr., Defender, Rye, N.Y./Rye
*Nemsick anchored Bucknell’s backline to a 0-0 draw with No. 23 Villanova on Thursday, which entered the contest with the nation’s No. 2 scoring offense at 4.5 goals per game.
*The freshman limited Avrie Nelson (5 goals, 11 points), the reigning Big East Rookie of the Year, to only two shots.

Patriot League Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper & Rookie of the Week
Sarah McFarland, Bucknell, Fr., Goalkeeper, Middletown, Del./Middletown
*McFarland recorded a season-high eight saves to help Bucknell to a 0-0 draw with No. 23 Villanova on Thursday.
*The freshman made six of her eight saves in the first half as the Wildcats entered the game ranked second in NCAA Division I with 4.5 goals per game.
*The Middletown, Del. native is tied for the Patriot League lead in shutouts (3).

Karalyn Dail, Army West Point, Jr., Goalkeeper, Centennial, Colo./Arapahoe
*Dail turned away six shots to secure her second clean sheet of the season in Army West Point’s 1-0 win over Cornell on Thursday.
*The junior is fourth in the Patriot League in saves per game (5.00).

Daisy West, Army West Point, Jr., Defender, Fort Montgomery, N.Y./James I. O’Neill High School
*West anchored an Army West Point defense that limited Cornell to three corner kicks in a 1-0 shutout victory on Thursday.

Catherine Apker, Lafayette, Sr., Goalkeeper, Homer, N.Y./Homer
*Apker recorded eight saves and her Patriot League-leading third shutout of the season in Lafayette’s 0-0 draw with Buffalo on Thursday.
*The senior also ranks second in the Patriot League in save percentage (.824) and goals-against average (1.13) as well as third in saves per game (5.25).

Ava Fix, Lafayette, Jr., Defender, St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy
*Fix played on 90 minutes on Lafayette’s backline in Thursday’s 0-0 draw with Buffalo at home.

Hannah Goetzer, Loyola Maryland, Sr., Goalkeeper, Backnang, Germany/ Gymnasium in der Taus
*Goetzer combined to make 10 saves in a 0-0-2 week for Loyola Maryland, which featured draws against Iowa State (1-1) and James Madison (1-1).
*The senior recorded a season-best six saves against the Cyclones, before recording four stops against the Dukes.
*The German native leads the Patriot League in goals-against average (0.88), save percentage (.841) and shutouts (3).

Savannah Manset, Loyola Maryland, So., Forward, Wilmington, N.C./Eugene Ashley
*Manset scored the opening goal in the fifth minute of Loyola Maryland’s 1-1 draw at Iowa State on Thursday.
*The sophomore is tied for the team lead in goals as the Greyhounds enter Patriot League play at 0-1-7.

Geneve Pouliot, Loyola Maryland, Fr., Defender, Quebec, Canada/ École Secondaire Saint-Gabriel
*Pouliot played 180 minutes over two games for Loyola Maryland, helping hold Iowa State (1-1) and James Madison to two goals in a pair of draws.
*The freshman has helped the Greyhounds allow the fewest goals in the Patriot League this season with seven.

Helen Bonner, Navy, So., Defender, McLean, Va./Georgetown Visitation Prep
*Bonner scored the game-winning goal in the 52nd minute to help Navy defeat Youngstown State, 1-0, on the road on Sunday.
*The sophomore ranks tied for 10th in the Patriot League in goals (2).
