Lafayette senior forward Jamie Mullarkey (Cramlington, England/Cramlington) was drafted in the second round of the 2003 Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Draft by the Philadelphia Kixx. Mullarkey was the 26th overall pick.
A four-year starter who served as a co-captain as a senior, Mullarkey led the Leopards in points (24), goals (8) and assists (8) in 2003. He ranked first in the Patriot League in assists, second in points and third in goals.
Mullarkey, who was named league offensive player of the week three times in his career, was an All-Patriot League First-Team selection as a senior and second-team choice as a sophomore. He is tied for third all-time at Lafayette in career assists (23) and tied for ninth in career points (53).
The MISL has teams in eight cities across the United States with a ninth team set to join the league for the 2005-06 season. A tenth team is based in Monterrey, Mexico. The MISL is the single major league of indoor soccer, with each team playing a 36-game regular season beginning in October and lasting into April.
The Kixx are in their eighth season playing home games at the Wachovia Spectrum and third as members of the MISL. They have qualified for postseason play in each of their first seven seasons as an organization and are currently in line for their eighth straight playoff appearance.
Lafayette won the 2003 Patriot League Tournament championship, its fifth tournament title in the past 10 years, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the third time in school history.
