Margie Tversky Named Assistant AD At Towson

Former College of Notre Dame Athletic Director Margie Tversky has been named as Towson University's Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Student Services, it has been announced by Towson's Director of Athletics Dr. Wayne Edwards.

She replaces Debby DeAngelis, who was named as the Athletic Director at California State University at Hayward.

A graduate of Rutgers University, Tversky has been the Athletic Director at Notre Dame for the last three years. At the Baltimore-based all-women's college, she was responsible for the full administration of a seven-sport intercollegiate athletic program in addition to an intramural and recreation program, wellness programming, fitness center, swim club and Camp Notre Dame, a summer day camp.

From 1983 to 1990, she served as the Associate Athletic Director at Columbia University, supervising an eleven-sport women's intercollegiate athletic program. Prior to that, she was the Director of Athletics at Barnard College for five years.

Tversky started her career in college athletics administration in 1973 when she served as Assistant Athletic Director and Head Field Hockey Coach at the University of Iowa. In five years at Iowa, she coached the field hockey team to a pair of state championships. She was also a Physical Education instructor at Iowa.

In addition, she spent eight years as a sales representative for Fila Sports Apparel.

A resident of Baltimore County for the last eleven years, she was recognized by the Baltimore County Board of Education for over 1,000 hours of dedicated service in 1996.
