The National Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators (NACWAA) will honor seven women, each of whom has provided outstanding leadership in intercollegiate athletics.

The Administrator of the Year Award is presented to NACWAA members for significant contributions made in collegiate athletics. This award, recognizing administrative excellence, is presented annually to members in NCAA Divisions I-A, I-AA, I-AAA, Division II, Division III, NAIA/Junior/Community Colleges and Organizations/Conferences.

The 2002 Administrator of the Year Banquet presented by Jostens will be held Monday, October 14 at the NACWAA Fall Forum in Saint Louis, MO.

This year NACWAA will honor Carolyn Schlie Femovich, Executive Director of the Patriot League, Andrea Seger, Ball State University, Andrea Meyers, Indiana State University, Roxanne Levenson, Pepperdine University, Lynn Dorn, North Dakota State University, Laurie Priest, Mount Holyoke College, and Karen Sykes, Dean College.

This year's Organization/Conference Administrator of the Year Award recipient is Carolyn Femovich from the Patriot League. Femovich is currently the Executive Director of the Patriot League. She is just one of two women to hold the post of commissioner of a combined men's and women's program at the Division I level.

Femovich previously served as the Senior Associate Athletic Director at the University of Pennsylvania. She was the President of the 262-member Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) in 1996.

Femovich currently serves as the Patriot League representative on the NCAA Management Council and chaired the NCAA Basketball Marketing Sub-Committee from 1997-2000. Femovich received her undergraduate degree from Valparaiso University and her mater's degree from Indiana University.

Andrea Seger from Ball State University, will be honored as NACWAA's NCAA Division I-A Administrator of the Year Award recipient. Seger who was named in the Street & Smith's Supper 50 Women Sports Executives in 1998, served as Director of Athletics at Ball State University for seven years. She was a part of the Ball State University Athletic Department for 27 years.

Seger came to Ball State University as an Assistant Professor and Assistant Athletic Trainer. Seger's accomplishments within the athletic department were evident by the winning of the Mid-American Conference's Jacoby Trophy in 2000-2001.

She guided the Ball State athletics program to victories in both the Reese and Jacoby standings, marking only the fourth time in the history of the league that the same school has won both trophies in the same academic year.

NACWAA has selected Andrea Meyers from Indiana State University, as its Division I-AA Administrator of the Year Award recipient. Andrea Meyers is now in her sixth year as Director of Athletics at Indiana State University. Before ascending into the director's role, Myers was the department's Senior Associate Athletic Director.

Myers serves on the Missouri Valley Conference Finance Committee as well as the Executive Committee. She has served as a member of the NCAA's Committee on Committees for Women's Athletics, the NCAA Management Council and the NCAA Infractions Committee. Myers received her bachelor's and master's in physical education from Indiana State University.

This years Division I-AAA Administrator of the Year Award recipient is Roxanne Levenson from Pepperdine University. Roxanne Levenson is currently the Associate Athletic Director and Senior Women's Administrator at Pepperdine University. Prior to assuming her current position at Pepperdine, Levenson worked as a management consultant and reservation sales representatives for United Airlines.

She is currently serving on the NCAA Division I Championships/Competition Cabinet, the NCAA Olympic Sports Liaison Committee, the Championship Cabinet's Bracket/Format Subcommittee and the Branding, Broadcasting and Promotions Subcommittee. Levenson graduated from UCLA in 1976 with a bachelor's degree in sociology and social psychology, and later earned her master's from Pepperdine.

Lynn Dorn from North Dakota State University, has been chosen as this years Division II Administrator of the Year Award recipient. Lynn Dorn is the Director of Women's Athletics at North Dakota State University.

Dorn was named one of the five most influential people in Division II athletics by College Sports magazine in 1995. She was also selected as the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Administrator of the Year in 1997. Dorn served on the NCAA Executive Committee and was the Division II Vice President from 1995-98.

She also served on the NCAA Project 2000 Committee and the Postgraduate Scholarship Committee. Dorn received her bachelor's degree from Bemidji State University and her master's degree from the University of Minnesota.

NACWAA has selected Laurie Priest from Mount Holyoke College, as its Division III Administrator of the Year Award recipient. Priest is currently the Chair of Physical Education and Director of Athletics at Mount Holyoke College.

Before coming to Mount Holyoke in 1989, Laurie served for seven years as Director of Athletics, Assistant Professor and Swimming coach at Marymount University. Priest served as the President of the National Association for Girls and Women in Sport from 1989-90.

In the spring of 1991, she was awarded the Mabel Lee Award from the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance and in 1992 was inducted into the Northeast New Agenda Hall of Fame.

Priest served on the Executive Board of the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators (NACWAA) and the Eastern College Athletic Conference Executive Council. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association for Girls and Women in Sport (NAGWS).

Karen Sykes from Dean College, is this years NAIA/Junior/Community Colleges Administrator of the Year Award recipient. Karen Sykes is the Assistant Director of Athletics and Professor at Dean College.

Previously Sykes has been the Division and Department Chair for Sport Fitness and Leisure Studies. Sykes was instrumental in the development of the Amateur Softball Association programs. She assisted in the selection of the 1996 USA Olympic Team and served on the Pan American Games Selection Committee in 1987, 1991, and 1995. Sykes was elected President of the NJCAA in April of 1999.
