Kerry Van Malderghem has been named assistant director of athletic communications at Colgate University. She comes to Colgate from the Northeast-10 Conference, where she was assistant director of media relations for one year.

Van Malderghem will be the primary contact for Colgate's men's ice hockey, volleyball, golf and crew programs.

Prior to joining the Northeast-10 office, she served as an intern in the athletic media relations office at the University of New Hampshire. She was the Wildcats' primary contact for men's soccer, field hockey, women's ice hockey, women's gymnastics and assisted with the men's ice hockey team and football.

Van Malderghem has also served as an intern with the Syracuse Crunch hockey team of the American Hockey League and Syracuse SkyChiefs of the International Baseball League, and in the sports department of WIXT News, Channel 9, in Syracuse.

She is a 1999 graduate of Le Moyne College, where she served as sports editor of the student newspaper and covered men's and women's basketball for two years.
