Service. That's the goal of the Patriot League office.

The seven-member staff services the League membership and many associated constituencies, such as the media, the NCAA and Patriot League supporters. Certainly, our main objective is to work in the best interests of the student-athletes at our member institutions.

Entering our 13th year, the League is making a major change, taking advantage of technology to provide better service to all of our constituencies.

Introducing the NEW Patriot League Newsletter.

For the past 12 years, the Newsletter was published quarterly and distributed to more than 1,000 subscribers with updates related more to issues facing the League, not just scores.

Now, in association with the League's website, which premiered in July 2001, you are one of more than 900 subscribers to the initial new electronic Patriot League Newsletter, which will be distributed throughout the academic year on Tuesday afternoons. We will also have monthly editions during the summer months to keep everyone associated with the League up-to-date with news and events associated with the League.

This service is available FREE to anyone interested in the Patriot League: student-athletes, parents, fans, coaches, administrators, alumni, sponsors, media members, etc. We encourage you to pass the word that anyone may register for the new e-mail Newsletter on the PL website (www.patriotleague.com).

The new e-mail Newsletter will still have many of the same stories and features that were in the old printed Newsletter. However, we will now be able to include even more, such as:

* Links to our weekly sports reports, so you can check out standings, scores, weekly honors, stats and notes on each team throughout the academic year.

* More feature stories on our teams and student-athletes, focusing primarily what they do OUTSIDE the playing arena, such as community service, internships and awards.

Our goal is to "tell the story" about the Patriot League through the many outstanding successes of our student-athletes, teams and institutions.

Another added benefit - we'll be able to deliver these stories and updates to you on a timely basis via e-mail. Tuesday afternoons, delivered to your desk at home or work - wherever you want to receive the new Patriot League Newsletter.

Thank you for joining us for our new venture. We encourage feedback so that we can continue to improve the Newsletter and the many services provided by the League office. We hope you find the new Patriot League Newsletter to be an interesting and enjoyable addition to your week.
