On the anniversary of one of the most tragic moments in the history of the United States, the Patriot League takes this opportunity to remember the many, many Americans whose lives were changed on the day now known simply as "9-11."

We remember everyone who was lost, either in New York City, Washington D.C. or in Western Pennsylvania. A number of them were members of the "extended" Patriot League family as alumni, relatives of alumni, students or employees of PL institutions. Those lost continue to be in our thoughts.

We remember the thousands of civil servants, rescue workers and volunteers who spent millions of hours searching for survivors and tending to the wounded. We appreciate the millions who contributed food, clothing, lodging, equipment, money and time in support of their country.

We also remember the thousands of men and women working hard to protect us from further disasters, at home and abroad. We are proud to have the United States Military Academy and the United States Naval Academy as members of our League. We thank the graduates of all our member institutions who serve our nation.
