Bucknell and Lafayette both scored three goals on the way to gaining League victories as the Patriot League men's soccer schedule got underway with three matches this weekend.

On the women's side, Navy broke the NCAA record for regular-season attendance Friday night against No. 1-ranked North Carolina, but also broke its 34-game regular-season unbeaten streak with a 1-0 loss to the Tar Heels. The Mids bounced back Sunday with a 1-0 win over Colgate and joined American with League victories over the weekend.

The men's weekend started with a 3-0 Bucknell triumph at Army (2-4-2, 0-1-0 PL) as Soph. Scott Visnic scored twice for the Bison. BU (5-4-0, 1-0-0 PL) added a non-League win at Monmouth Sunday.

Saturday, Nathan Jolly headed in a direct free kick late in overtime to lift host Lafayette (6-2-1, 1-0-0 PL) to a 3-2 victory over visiting Colgate (1-4-3, 0-1-0). In Saturday's other League action, Holy Cross (9-5-1 PL) and Lehigh (6-1-2 PL) replayed the 2002 PL title match with the same result -- 110 minutes of scoreless play. In a non-League contest, American dropped a 1-0 decision to Cornell.

On the women's side, 6,527 fans filled Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium Friday night for an outstanding doubleheader. Unfortunately for PL fans, both Colgate (vs. Villanova) and Navy (vs. North Carolina) dropped 1-0 decisions.

In addition to snapping a six-match win streak, the Raiders also lost Sr. M Kate Barrett to a red card early in the second half, meaning she was also unavailable for Sunday's League match vs. the Midshipmen. The Mids' loss snapped the team's 34-match regular-season undefeated streak, dating back to the last six matches of the 2001 campaign.

Sunday, Navy posted a 1-0 win over the Raiders (6-4-0, 1-1-0 PL) in the PL opener for both teams. Combined with American's first-ever women's soccer triumph over Holy Cross (4-1), the Mids (8-1-1, 1-0-0 PL) and Eagles (3-4-1, 1-0-0 PL) joined Army (8-2-0, 2-0-0 PL) among the teams with perfect League records.

In other PL play, Bucknell (5-3-1, 0-1-1 PL) and Lafayette (2-6-4, 0-1-1) played to a scoreless draw Saturday night in Easton. The Leopards have already set the team record for most ties in a season. Entering the season, LC had recorded just eight ties in 13 season since the team's inception in 1990.
