WASHINGTON, D.C. -- American University's new Director of Athletics Tom George will be a featured guest on Comcast SportsNet's BWI SpotLIGHT this evening at 6:00 p.m. George will be making his first television appearance as AU's Director of Athletics, and it begins a whirlwind weekend of activity for the new hire.

Men's Basketball head coach Jeff Jones will also appear on Spotlight tomorrow evening at 6:00 p.m., as the Eagles prepare for the start of official practice.

Tomorrow also marks the official kickoff of the 2001-02 basketball season with American's Midnight Madness. As part of festivities, George will be introduced to the AU student-body.

Midnight Madness kicks off with the American-Navy volleyball match, which will be televised live on Comcast at 8:00 p.m. Following the match, the R&B cover band Super T will entertain fans with an hour-long set.

Also included in the extravaganza will be games, prize giveaways which include five $100 certificates good for student books, and much, much more.

Jeff Jones and Shann Hart will lead the men's and women's basketball teams onto the floor at 12:01 a.m. for the start of official practice. Following a half-hour long workout, Super T will again take the stage and play from 12:30 to 1:30 a.m.
