Sophomore Scott Visnic continued his all-star caliber season, scoring the lone goal in a 1-0 victory for the Bucknell men's soccer team over the second-ranked team in the country, Maryland, on Tuesday, November 4. It was just the second loss for the Terrapins this season.

The Bison achieved the biggest upset in school history, with the only previous top-10 victory coming in the 2000 season when BU defeated #8 South Carolina, 2-1 in overtime.

Visnic converted on Bucknell's first shot of the game, and the squad's only shot of the first half, firing a point-blank pass from senior Chris Beekman past Terps goalkeeper Noah Palmer just 1:32 into the game. Visnic's goal gave him 12 scores on the season and 27 points, moving him into a tie for 10th on the Patriot League single-season list in both categories. He also moves into a tie for eighth on the same lists in the Bucknell annals.

Despite 11 shots from the host team in the opening half, and another 12 from Maryland in the final 45 minutes, the Bison defense, led by sophomore goalie Adam Edwards, found a way to stop the 12th-ranked scoring offense in the country.

Edwards ended the contest with eight saves for his eighth shutout of the year. Palmer finished the game with two stops on five shots by the Orange and Blue.

Bucknell improves to 11-6-1 overall while Maryland falls to 15-2-0. The Bison, having just recently wrapped up the Patriot League regular-season title, host Holy Cross in the final conference game of the year on Saturday, November 8, before hosting the PL tournament on November 14 and 16.
