Dec. 17, 2002
Our student-athletes have just completed the most successful fall athletic season in Patriot League history. They've also finished, or are nearing the end of, the always-difficult final exam period. In both areas, success is the norm.
So we would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of the membership and the Patriot League office staff, to wish one and all a happy and healthy holiday season.
Because so many people will be away during the next few weeks, this will be the last PL Newsletter until early January. We hope you have enjoyed our new format and have been able to keep closer tabs on the success of the teams and student-athletes.
We'd like to know what you think of the new PL Newsletter. We'd like to know what stories you enjoyed reading, and what kind of stories you'd like to see more of in future Newsletters.
Please take a moment and send an e-mail to tbyrnes@patriotleague.com. Give us your thoughts, and we will try to improve even more to keep our loyal readers updated on Patriot League activities.
Two "commercial" notes before we break for the holidays.
First, we're deep into the planning of the 2003 Patriot League Men's And Women's Basketball Championship Tournament, set for March 7-9 at the Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro, Md.
Plan now to join us at the League's showcase event. We can offer you ticket packages and provide insite as to where to stay in the D.C. area. It's always an exciting reunion of old friends and current stars.
If you're interested in more information about the tournament, please send an e-mail to Mike McFarland (mmcfarland@patriotleague.com), and we'll set the ball rolling for your trip to the nation's capital for an outstanding weekend.
Additionally, we have merchandise to surprise that Patriot League fan, from pullover wind jackets and sweatshirts to polo shirts and hats and even 2002-03 Basketball Media Guides. Contact the League office at either e-mail address above or by calling (610) 289-1950 for purchase something special for that PL supporter.
Thank you for supporting the Patriot League. We look forward to an exciting 2003.
