Directions to Army
From Newark (N.J.) Airport
Exit Airport and take New Jersey Turnpike North. Pay toll at north end of Turnpike (just past the Meadowlands) and proceed on I-95 North. Follow signs toward George Washington Bridge (stay in local lanes toward bridge). Before bridge, follow signs to Palisades Parkway and Fort Lee exit. Turn left at traffic light at end of exit ramp. Proceed past strip mall on left. Look for round brown sign signaling Palisades Parkway entrance just past gas station on right. Bear right and proceed on Palisades Parkway North. Follow to end of Parkway (at Bear Mountain traffic circle). Proceed three-quarters of the way around circle and follow signs to Route 9W North. Continue on Route 9W North to Thayer and Stony Lonesome gates.
From Stewart Airport
Exit terminal and follow road to Route 207. Turn left at light and follow Route 207 South. Proceed through "Five Corners" area (past business intersection) until Quaker Avenue traffic light (just past bridge over wide stream). Turn left and follow to Route 9W South. Proceed on Route 9W South over Storm King Mountain. Continue on Route 9W South to either Stony Lonesome or Thayer gate.
From New York State Thruway (from the North)
Exit the Thruway at exit 17 (Newburgh). Pay toll and follow signs to Route 84. Proceed on Route 84 East. Take exit 10 (do not cross Hudson River). Turn right at end of exit ramp and proceed on Route 9W South. Proceed through town and city of Newburgh. Stay on Route 9W for approximately 15 miles, traversing over Storm King Mountain. Continue on Route 9W South to either Stony Lonesome or Thayer gate.
From New York State Thruway (from the South)
Take exit 16 (Harriman) off New York State Thruway. Pay toll and take immediate right off first exit. At traffic light, take left on to Route 32 South. Follow signs for Route 6/West Point. At third traffic light (just past overpass), take left on to Route 6 East. Route 6 East will ultimately meet Route 293 at top of large, climbing hill. Follow Route 293 East toward West Point. Proceed to Route 9W South in order to reach Stony Lonesome or Thayer gates.
From Interstate 84 (from the North and East)
Cross Hudson River on Newburgh-Beacon Bridge. Take exit 10S. Turn right at exit and proceed to next traffic light. Turn right on to Route 9W South. Proceed through town and city of Newburgh. Stay on Route 9W for approximately 15 miles, traversing over Storm King Mountain. Continue on Route 9W South to either Stony Lonesome or Thayer gate.
Specific Directions to Malek Tennis Center (outdoor tennis facility)
Entering West Point via Thayer gate:
After security checkpoint, continue straight through stop sign on Thayer Road. Follow road through Thayer Hall and around Doubleday and Clinton Fields. Malek Tennis Center will be on your left after passing Clinton Field. Parking is available adjacent to Malek Tennis Center and to the right opposite Clinton Field.
Entering West Point via Stony Lonesome Gate:
After security checkpoint, continue through stop sign on Stony Lonesome Road. Follow Stony Lonesome Road past Michie Stadium and bare left onto Mills Road. At stop sign on bottom of hill, turn right onto Washington Road. Go straight at the next stop sign as Washington Rd. changes to Cullum Rd. After passing parade grounds, Malek Tennis Center will be on your right. Parking is available adjacent to Malek Tennis Center and to the left opposite Clinton Field.
Directions to Lichtenberg Tennis Center (indoor tennis facility):
Entering West Point via Thayer Gate: After security checkpoint, turn left onto Mills Road. Follow Mills Road to Michie Stadium. After Michie Stadium, turn left onto Stony Lonesome Road. Lichtenberg Tennis Center is on the right after you pass the north end of Michie Stadium. Parking for Lichtenberg Tennis Center is available adjacent to building and across the street.
Entering West Point via Stony Lonesome Gate: After security checkpoint, continue through stop sign on Stony Lonesome Rd. Follow Stony Lonesome down the hill. Lichtenberg Tennis Center is on the left approximately ½ mile down on Stony Lonesome. Parking for Lichtenberg Tennis Center is available adjacent to building and across the street.
Security check point procedure
Have driver's license(s) and/or official government issued ID available for guards. Explain to guard that you are visiting for the Patriot League women's tennis tournament. Be prepared to have vehicle searched.
