American won the 2013 Patriot League Field Hockey Championship at home at Jacobs Field. The top-seed Eagles beat second-seed Boston University 3-0 in the title game on Nov. 9 for their ninth crown in the last 11 years and first since 2010. The Eagles advanced to the final with a 2-1 overtime win in a semifinal contest against fourth-seed Lafayette on Nov. 8, while Boston University advanced out of the semifinals with a 1-0 win over third-seed Bucknell.
