Columbia Hand CU Women's Soccer 3-0 Loss

The Columbia Lions defeated Colgate 3-0 Saturday in women's soccer action at Van Doren Field. The Lions won their season opener and improve to 1-0, while Colgate falls to 0-2-1 on the year.

Columbia got on the board first at 37:50 when Brianne Pardini scored an unassisted goal to make the score 1-0.

They increased the lead to 2-0 when Tara Davis took a corner kick from Erica Woda and put it in the back of the net at 57:23.

Eva Gubdjornstodttir finished off the scoring at 80:31 when she headed a Pardini cross to push the lead to 3-0.

Goalkeepers Erissa Aronson and Janine Ierardi combined for the shutout, stopping all three Colgate shots on goal. Jenny Molina (Methuen, MA/Methuen) made three saves for Colgate.
