Center Valley, Pa. - Through seven fall sports, Bucknell took the early lead in the 2006-07 Patriot League Presidents' Cup standings. Lehigh ranked first in the men's standings, while Bucknell was first in the women's standings.

Bucknell, the winner of 12 Patriot League President's Cups, gathered 39.75 points during the Fall 2006 season that included participation in all seven of the Patriot League's sponsored sports. Bolstering Bucknell's top ranking was a first-place finish at the women's cross country championship and a men's soccer championship title, as well as tying for the best regular-season record in women's soccer. The Bison competed in all six of the Patriot League's fall championships and finished in a tie for fourth in the football standings.

Coming in second overall was American with 32 points. The Eagles captured the men's cross country, field hockey and volleyball championship titles. The Eagles also finished with the best regular-season records in field hockey and volleyball.

Lehigh completed the fall season in third place overall with 31 points. The Mountain Hawks owned the best regular-season mark in men's soccer and tied for first in the football standings.

Other fall champions included Lafayette, which was tied for first in football, and Navy, which took home the women's soccer championship title.

Rounding out the overall standings were Colgate (30.25 points), Lafayette (29), Navy (26.25), Army (20.25) and Holy Cross (18).

Army is the only other Patriot League school, besides Bucknell, to win the Patriot League Presidents Cup, which is handed out at the end of each academic year. The Black Knights were winners in 1994, 1995, 1997 and 2005.

Lehigh, the current men's leader, has been awarded that trophy three times, most recently in 2006. Army has won the most men's titles out of any Patriot League team with nine. Bucknell has earned the women's cup 12 times.
