Center Valley, Pa. - Lafayette's Kerry Kenny, the Patriot League's student-athlete representative to the NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), has been selected to serve as the vice chair of the NCAA SAAC.

"I am extremely excited to take on this new role, and to continue to represent the Patriot League in the best possible way," said Kenny.

Kenny was appointed the Patriot League's representative to the NCAA SAAC in July 2006, as each Division I conference must have a student-athlete representative. He was then voted in as the vice chair of the national committee during the NCAA Convention held in the beginning of January.

As the NCAA SAAC Vice Chair, Kenny will take on one of two lead roles at each of the in-person SAAC meetings, as well as sit on other NCAA committees, including Management Council, Faculty Athletics Representative Association, Student Athlete Reinstatement Committee, Division I National SAAC Administration Team and Strategic Planning Subcommittee, SAAC Website Development Subcommittee and will serve as an editor of the SAAC Newsletter.

Kenny will preside as vice chair until January 2008, taking over as chair of the NCAA SAAC until January 2009.

Kenny is a senior member and captain of the men's basketball team at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa.
