Patriot League Celebrating Women in Sports Webpage
The Patriot League has launched a new page on its website titled Celebrating Women in Sports, which can be found under the Special Features tab. The Patriot League has made continual efforts to support women in sports and promote its female student-athletes, coaches and administrators. The new webpage is dedicated to that mission.
The Celebrating Women in Sports webpage has been revamped from what many website visitors may remember from the past. The new page includes eight different links that will allow the user to read about the many accomplishments of the women in the Patriot League, while also serving to promote girls and women in sport. The links are titled as follows: Women in Sport Q&A, Campus NGWSD Events, Feature Stories, Patriot League Women in Sport Magazine, Patriot League Female Administrators, Patriot League Female Sport Sponsorship, Patriot League Milestones and Archives.
Also, included on the new webpage is a link to the Patriot League's Celebrating Women in Sports photo gallery. The gallery pictures represent the outstanding accomplishments of its student-athletes both athletically and academically.
The Patriot League's Celebration of Women in Sports effort is an off-shoot of its support of the annual celebration of National Girl and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD), which officially takes place on Feb. 7 this year. The Patriot League dedicates the month of February to girls and women in sport with promotion on the Patriot League's official website, www.PatriotLeague.com, while each of the Patriot League's eight institutions hold campus events to celebrate NGWSD.
A main attraction of the new page is the Patriot League Women in Sport Magazine, which is a 12-page publication that tells the stories of the Patriot League's women through feature stories and profiles of its student-athletes, coaches and administrators. The magazine also serves to promote participation in sports and career opportunities in the field of athletics.
